With its quirky curved facade, traditional mullion windows and quaint interior, this period cottage in Southwold is an attractive base for exploring the Suffolk Heritage Coast. You’ll have a dog-friendly pub, shops and the beach all within 0.5 miles. Since you’re within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’ll find an abundance of doggie-pleasing walking opportunities in the wider area, too. It’s got room for up to four humans and one canine guest, making it ideal for a couple or a small family.

Inside, the sitting room is lovely and cosy, with a sofa and armchairs and a large bay window. A TV is on hand for entertainment and there’s a wood burner housed within a traditional fireplace – on chilly evenings, light it up to create a great snooze spot for your fatigued pet. The separate dining room is excellent for those homecooked holiday meals (or takeaways if you don’t feel like cooking). Out the back, there’s a sweet courtyard with furniture for having morning coffee while you make a plan about what sites to sniff out today.

During the day, you can wander along the prom, prom, prom (75 metres) and admire the colourful beach huts, lighthouse views and Edwardian pier (0.5 miles). Although Southwold’s main beach has some dog restrictions in summer, you won’t need to go far to find a completely restriction-free beach at The Denes (0.5 miles). For longer walkies, head north to the Benacre National Nature Reserve (5.5 miles) where you’ll find another dog-friendly beach at Covehithe, or west towards the village of Blythburgh (5 miles) weaving your way through the wetlands of the River Blyth.

  • TV, DVD player and CD player with radio
  • Enclosed courtyard with garden furniture

Good location, modestly updated with some replacement furnishings, handy for town, it suits our needs being where it is but it doesn't have enough reinvestment in it to recommend to friends

Trinity Cottage is has a warm, welcoming feel. It is small but beautifully proportioned, well equipped and comfortable. It was spotlessly clean for our arrival. The compact courtyard garden will be lovely to sit in, in warmer weather. We watered the window boxes and pots, filled with daffodils, fresh herbs and plants - it was a nice touch to havRead moree these growing. We also discovered the downstairs, outside loo just before we left! The kitchen is 'bijou' but has everything you need, including cupboards and a pantry for storage. There are sea views from the upstairs bedrooms; and the beach is literally a two minute walk away (down steps.) The side gate into the courtyard garden means that sandy kit can be rinsed and hung on the line there. Shops and pubs/restaurants are just around the corner. We hope to return to Trinity Cottage later this year. Thank you for a lovely stay. Hide

water from the shower does not do its job resulting in a flood each time the shower is used. The house is very beautiful but some changes need to be made.

The yard for the dogs is very small and is just a yard. We walked our dogs very regularly so that comfort breaks. Brilliant location and literally 50yds from the sea front.

This lovely cottage in its perfect location was comfortable (especially the bed) and well equipped. But unfortunately it was let down by being rather dirty, and it would also benefit from a good clean and a lick of paint!

We had a fantastic stay at Trinity Cottage. What a beautiful property - we loved the minimalist unspoilt Anglo-Danish design and feel of the decor. It has great kerb appeal. And the location speaks for itself, especially with a dog!
