This chic and stylish home in Southwold is a fantastic base for a seaside holiday in Suffolk. Whether you need a place to stay with family or friends, where your dog is welcomed with open arms, this property is a great find. It has a hard-to-beat location in one of Suffolk’s most popular towns, while the interiors have plenty of quirky finishing touches, which gives it bags of character.

You notice that character from the moment you step inside, straight into the open-plan living space with the kitchen/diner at one end. Finished to a high standard, the room is exceptionally comfortable. It has room for everyone to kick back and relax, including the dog, who will happily curl up by your feet if you are chilling out on a sofa. Upstairs, you’ll find a twin room, which can be turned into a king-size upon request. The second bedroom is a double, which benefits from a vaulted ceiling and a Juliet balcony. The final room has a super-king-size bed with its own shower room and WC. If needed, this can also be a twin, so the property has flexible sleeping arrangements. The family bathroom on this floor is for all to share and has a feature roll-top bath. For outdoor space, guests will find the property is close to the harbour and the Common.

While the property doesn’t have its own private outdoor area, the Common, in particular, is great for letting out a resident dog. Southwold has a pretty beach where you’ll find its restored pier. The town is also overlooked by an impressive lighthouse, while the marketplace has stalls open on Mondays and Thursdays – somewhere that dogs love to visit for the plethora of fun smells!

Garden Lodge is ideally placed in a little, quiet mews very near to the sea front and the delights of Southwold. The accommodation and decor is of a high standard, beautifully presented and caters to the comfort of guests. Booking was both easy and very helpful.
