Property code: OC-P00724

Go mutts in this sweet cottage near Coverack, on Cornwall’s fascinating Lizard Peninsula. Perfect for families and two canine companions, it’s the ideal base for getting out and about in unspoilt countryside and running free on a choice of dog-friendly beaches.

Set on one level, this welcoming cottage has everything you need for a relaxing rural break, with two steps up from the front porch leading to an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Pop your canine friends’ bowls down on the floor of the corner kitchen, and they can snooze by your feet as you watch TV from the comfortable sofas. The two bright and pretty bedrooms, a double and a twin, share the charming bathroom, which offers a shower over the bath set up. Outside, your pupsters will love playing in the enclosed, lawned front garden while you enjoy a drink or a meal alfresco.

With the rugged scenery of the Lizard Peninsula all around you, it’s just 3.5 miles to the picturesque fishing village of Coverack and the golden sands of its year-round, dog-friendly beach (though remember there’s much less of it at high tide!). Discover the coastal paths and breathtaking scenery of this lesser-known and remote-feeling part of South Cornwall, the most southerly point of the British mainland, full of wildlife and intriguing places to visit. Try Roskilly’s, 2 miles, where you can enjoy ice cream made from the Jersey herd grazing nearby (pups on leads are welcome on the farm and in the courtyard area of its restaurant), or the Cornish Seal Sanctuary, 7.5 miles, where dogs are also welcome on leads. Don’t miss a Friday night at the Cadgwith Cove Inn, 7.5 miles, when the local Cadgwith Singers strike up with their sea shanties around 9.30pm.

Fantastic cottage, so peaceful and spotlessly clean. Fantastic amenities, oven with hob, microwave, kettle, fridge, toaster and even a dishwasher! Very comfy and a great location just a short drive to the beautiful beaches of the lizard area.

Lovely little cottage, ideal for our small family, very quiet location but close enough to get to plenty of other areas of Cornwall without to much of a drive. Supermarket (Sainsburys) is about 9 miles away in Helston, takes around 20 mins due to all the small narrow lanes. The Three Tuns pub is about 1.5 miles away, lovely food and drink. Cosy cottage in beautiful area. Well equipped and clean. Bathroom with very good shower in bath. Adequate parking immediately in front of cottage. Good sized bedrooms. Could suit a family of four, but would struggle with four adults as the living area/kitchen is very snug. Nearest shop in St Keverne but would advise using supermarkets iRead moren Helston, 20 minutes away. All roads in the area are beautiful but single-track, so be cautious. Overall, we had a lovely stay in a beautiful area. Hide

Just back from our week stay and we loved it. The cottage is lovely and very remote, lots of amenities in the cottage including everything our 2 year old son needed. We did move the ornaments for the week though just because our son is a wrecking ball!! It is lovely and quiet but we struggled to find much food wise for the beginning of our week as Read morewe found a few places reasonably near by didnt open until weds and only until sat or Sunday! However we went to Tesco and had everything we needed to cook at the cottage. Would highly recommend Roskillys farm which is 15 mins away, whether you have kids or not their food is fab (and open everyday!!) Overall a fab time had by us all and would definitely recommend and may well be back in the future. Thank you Hide
