Put your best paws forward and go on a holiday in Dartmouth. This charming four-storey townhouse is the perfect place for a large family and their dogs to relax and enjoy the history, legends and nature of Devon. Pack your lead, round up the kids and get going!
This property is set on a picturesque street. As you enter, you’ll find an airy kitchen/diner on the ground-floor level. It’s beautifully lit and has a wooden floor, perfect for sandy paws. On the first floor, you’ll see the lounge, which is ideal for reading or playing. There’s a wood burner-effect gas fire to make things cosy after busy days. Continue up the next set of stairs to find two bedrooms on the second floor, a double and a twin. Both are comfortable and relaxing, so you will wake up refreshed and in a great holiday mood. There is also a family bathroom and a walk-in shower room. The final floor has a romantic en-suite double bedroom, set in the eaves for a private feel. This property doesn’t have a garden, but there are lots of outdoor spaces nearby.
The closest park is the Royal Avenue Gardens, about 300 metres away. There’s plenty to sniff out, but once everything has been thoroughly checked, you can move on into the centre of town, which is 500 metres from the property. Here you’ll find bookshops, cafes and dog-friendly pubs. To feel the sand beneath your paws, try Sugary Cove Bay (1.5 miles) or Deadman’s Cove (1.5 miles). Don’t go swimming there, for obvious reasons, but it is a secluded spot to listen to the waves and share ghost stories. Both welcome dogs. For more legends, try Dartmouth Castle and see if you can spot the mermaid. And no trip to Dartmouth is complete without a day on Dartmoor, which is great for bracing walks.
