To see the beauty of Great Britain, there’s nowhere better than Devon. The village of Shaldon is a wonderful place for a holiday, and this property is an excellent place to stay. Originally a Georgian pub, the building was converted and can now house two families and their dogs. It’s an excellent base for a traditional seaside holiday.
The ground floor is where you’ll find the kitchen/diner and the lounge, both beautifully lit from the patio doors. When the sun sets, turn on the wood burner-effect electric fire and settle in for the evening. On the first floor are three bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite bathroom, a double, and a twin zip-and-link. They’re all comfortable and classically decorated. Head up to the second floor to find the final bedroom, which has a king-size and single bed, and a games area in a cosy snug. Outside, you’ll find a courtyard garden with a hot tub, perfect for unwinding or starting the holiday in style.
This property is conveniently located so you can easily access Shaldon. The castle and adjoining botanical gardens are 500 metres away, and both welcome dogs. The centre of town, with local stores and dog-friendly pubs, is 300 metres in the opposite direction. Splash around on the sandy estuary banks, 200 metres, or head to the appropriately named (and dog-friendly) Labrador Bay, 1.5 miles. It’s managed by the RSPB and is a great place to spot peregrines, buzzards, dolphins and basking sharks.
