This unique beachside retreat is one of the most desirable in the Llyn Peninsula. Perched on the edge of Llanbedrog’s sheltered, mile-long sands and boasting fabulous views, it welcomes couples and families plus up to two canine companions.
The floor-to-ceiling arched windows of this remarkable getaway are a reminder of its past as a boathouse – now transformed into a sleek, modern destination that’s perfect for sociable relaxation. With timber flooring throughout, it’s set over the lower-ground floor of the stunning historic building, with an open-plan living space that combines a lounge area with luxurious seating, a dining table for six and a high-gloss, integrated kitchen from which you can enjoy the gorgeous sea views while cooking up a storm. There are three bedrooms, two doubles (one with an en-suite shower room) and a twin, all simply styled in white and wood for a serene ambience. There’s a luxurious family bathroom and – the piece de resistance – a covered al fresco dining area on a stone terrace which leads directly from the lounge. It’s an incredible space in which to enjoy a meal in the fresh air while admiring the uninterrupted view of the beach, sea and mountains.
The National Trust’s Llanbedrog Beach is renowned for its colourful beach huts, its calm, sheltered waters and fantastic views. Children will love to paddle and build sandcastles while your pups can get their paws sandy all year round – just remember to keep them on a lead by the huts from April till September. If you want to venture outside the delightful village, you can be in bustling Abersoch in 3 miles (you may even want to walk there via the coastal path) or the less busy Porth Neigwl (Hell''s Mouth) Beach in 5.5 miles to try surfing its renowned waves.
