Set in an idyllic location on a working farm along the edge of the North Pennines, this fresh, relaxing stone-built cottage is ideal for couples and smaller families exploring a breathtaking part of Northumberland. Offering light, stylish holiday accommodation for up to four human and two canine guests, the cottage has been beautifully updated and tastefully decorated throughout. With access to a hot tub and summer house shared with the other properties onsite, this bright and airy retreat is perfect for eager walkers and nature lovers discovering the area’s historic landmarks and magnificent countryside.

This delightful cottage features a cosy lounge perfect for relaxing in after a great day out exploring the North Pennines. The light and inviting kitchen/diner is a lovely space for everyone to cook and enjoy heart family meals. Going upstairs, there are two sweet and cheerful en-suite bedrooms, both tastefully furnished and decorated in warm, soothing tones: one king-size and one twin. To the front of the cottage a small patio area has garden furniture and makes a delightful spot to sit back with a glass of wine in the evening. You will also have access to a shared lawn with space for your pets to run around, as well as a shared summer house and hot tub to luxuriate in.

Ideally located between the spellbinding Northumberland National Park and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (both within 5 miles), this cheerful retreat offers miles of breathtaking walks for your pets to lead you along, with the bustling market town of Brampton (2 miles) offering a variety of dog-friendly places to eat and drink. Local attractions include the route of Hadrian’s Wall, Gelt Woods, Talkin Tarn Country Park, and the sites of the ancient Roman forts of Birdoswald and Housesteads, all within 8 miles.

Lovely stay, close to a couple of walks from the accommodation, others just a short drive. Beautiful area with beautiful walks.

Great location. All you need in Brampton with Carlisle down the road. Very scenic. Cottage very comfortable for 4 adults. Good heating. Everything we needed was included.

The Hayloft is a lovely cosy cottage but a few things need to be addressed to make it perfect. The front door and french doors are really draughty, the kitchen window is cracked and smoke detector hanging down on ceiling. The twin en-suite shower switch is loose with only one screw holding it on wall and tiles are coming away from the wall in the tRead morewin en suite. A little more cutlery would also be useful. We had a lovely 3 night break at The Hayloft. It is such a serene and peaceful place. The cottage has everything you need. It has character and is cute and cozy. We will definitely return.

Had a fab weekend in the Hayloft and enjoyed the space. Really clean and so well equipped, WiFi, Smart TV, comfy KS bed and both bedrooms have en suite which is great!! Dog friendly so would benefit from secure outdoor space but as the cottages are converted farm buildings I appreciate this would be difficult to configure. It didnt pose any difficuRead morelties, it would just be a nice to have as most of the other cottages had secure gardens. Thanks for a lovely stay, we will definitely be back!!! Hide

I would love to give this property a good review. The location is lovely with easy access to the North Pennines and Hadrian's wall, and the North Lakes and Solway coast a short drive away. The owners are friendly and the property is comfortable. But there are so many defects in the equipment that I cannot recommend. I have given the owners a list, Read morebut several of these problems have been mentioned in previous reviews this year. To describe the property as having an enclosed garden is not correct, and the private patio is actually in the car park. There are lots of places nearby to walk dogs, but no enclosed area at the cottage itself. Hide

The location is excellent for exploring the area and many outdoor activities. The cottage is cosy comfortable and well equipped and the outdoor chairs catch the sun most of the day.
