Set on a working farm this beautifully converted former byre has been charmingly updated to provide warm, characterful and relaxing holiday accommodation for four guests. One of a group of seven stone cottages enjoying a secluded location along the edge of the North Pennines, the property has ample space for a four-pawed friend to join you as you visit Carlisle and Gretna Green, or follow the route of Hadrian’s Wall. Perfect for couples and smaller families this delightful single-level retreat has been tastefully furnished throughout, and features timber beams, exposed stonework, a wood burner and a relaxing hot tub.

Stepping inside this pretty cottage you will find a light and airy open-plan living space, ideal for everyone to unwind in. With a TV and wood burner, the lounge is perfect for relaxing with a favourite movie in the evenings. The central dining area is perfect for sharing a family feast which you can rustle up over in the fully equipped kitchen. The cottage also features a family bathroom and two cosy bedrooms decorated in warm, welcoming tones: a cheerful king-size room and a lovely twin. From the kitchen you can head outside onto a private and furnished decked area offering a lovely spot for a morning coffee. There’s also a shared lawn with plenty of space for your canine pal to run about, along with a hot tub and summer house shared with the neighbouring properties.

There are miles of walks to enjoy with your dog, with local destinations including Gelt Woods, Talkin Tarn Country Park and Geltsdale, all within 7 miles. The bustling market town of Brampton (2 miles) has a choice of great pubs, cafes and restaurants before you head a little further north to see the ruins of Hadrian’s Wall or explore Northumberland National Park (8 miles).

I booked this for my daughter and new husband's honeymoon break. The owners were very helpful when I asked about a few extras. The newlyweds thoroughly enjoyed their time there. Thank you.
