Escape to the Suffolk countryside in this charming holiday home for four humans and two hounds. The property makes a delightful couples’ retreat or base for a small family and boasts spectacular rural walks from its front door. You’ll also be close to the coast and the woof-welcoming beaches of Dunwich, Walberswick, and Covehithe (all within 14 miles). After a day of exploring, return to your cosy cottage to snuggle by the wood burner.
The barn conversion has been lovingly decorated and furnished, to create a stylish and cosy holiday home. The heart of the home is a bright and airy lounge/kitchen/diner, with a vaulted ceiling and statement chandelier. Recline on the sofa or gather around the table, whilst Rover and Fido warm their paws by the wood burner. At the far end of the room is a sleek kitchen area, with everything you need to create delicious dishes. In summer, throw open the patio doors, so the woofers can amble in and out to the garden. The cottage has two stylish bedrooms – a super-king-size and a twin – as well as a family bathroom. The sunny courtyard, surrounded by trees and hedgerows, is a delightful place to unwind with a glass of wine at the end of a busy day. Guests also have access to the shared tennis court.
The vast, shingle beach at Dunwich (7 miles) is a doggy delight, with mile upon mile of shoreline to sniff and investigate. There’s also an excellent paw-friendly pub. A 2-mile walk along the coast brings you to the quaint village of Walberswick, which also boasts a fantastic beach that welcomes woofers all year. The village is synonymous with crabbing, and is also one of Suffolk’s surfing hotspots. Further afield, the bustling market town of Beccles is 16.5 miles away.
