Ideal for an extended family break or a group of friends, up to three dogs are permitted too – always fantastic news. Generous, open-plan living space works well with children and dogs in tow. Enjoy spending time together outside on the shared patio, and there’s a cosy wood burner indoors for cooler months. Or just lead the way to adventure, exploring the great outdoors; with Hadrian’s Wall nearby and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 9 miles south, walkies won’t be a problem.
De-stress in this attractive cottage with a spacious open-plan living area downstairs, affording a comfortable lounge area with sofas and a wood burner, a well-equipped kitchen along one wall, and a dining table for six. An original stone archway with a glazed door leads outdoors. Upstairs, the three versatile bedrooms await – one double bedroom, one single bedroom and another single bedroom with additional bunk beds. Outside, there’s a fully enclosed paved garden with benches and a BBQ that is shared with other properties. And there’s also the shared use of an enclosed wooded area, ideal for canine capers.
The picturesque market town of Haltwhistle is great for supplies and its rich history. Located midway along Hadrian’s Wall, you’re within 0.5 miles of it. Get to grips with the history at the Roman Army Museum (4 miles) and bring it to life at the Roman forts of Housesteads (6 miles), Vindolanda (4.5 miles) and Birdoswald (8 miles) which are both fun and educational. Cawfield Quarry (1.5 miles) is worth a visit with its big cliff and pool and can easily be incorporated into a walk along Hadrian’s Wall.
