A beautiful, traditional fisherman’s cottage in the heart of an ancient maritime village, guests are sure to have a ball in this characterful retreat. Set within the winding streets of historic Appledore which sits at the mouth of the River Torridge, from here you can step into the main thoroughfare and embark on adventures along the South West Coast Path which runs through the heart of this bustling little townlet.
Set along a narrow pedestrian street just off the quayside, enter via a small porch and into the cosy living room. There’s a large inglenook fireplace, a great spot for Fido to curl up in front of and original wooden beams loom overhead, adding to the charming atmosphere of this beautifully decorated cottage. An inner hallway leads to the well-equipped kitchen/diner, which is where you can access the courtyard. A narrow staircase leads upstairs where you’ll find two well-appointed bedrooms, the first an airy master with king-size bed and the second, a comfortable twin. Both bedrooms share use of the family bathroom. Outside there is a fully enclosed, delightful courtyard space; an appealing space to enjoy your morning coffee and a little sun spot for your canine companion.
Embark on seaside adventures along the spectacular North Devon coast; Appledore itself is a fantastic place to enjoy alongside your beloved hound as most of the local pubs, cafes and boutique style shops welcome dogs, as does the foot passenger ferry that runs between Appledore and the pretty town of Instow during the summer months. The bucket-and-spade beach, Westward Ho!, is a traditional resort town 3 miles up the road and the area boasts a large array of outdoor family attractions that are also dog friendly.
