Built in the 1950s by a local family who also built fishing boats for the community, this imaginatively updated getaway enjoys a fantastic location close to the seafront and makes a fantastic holiday home for families, couples and friends eager to explore a beautiful part of Norfolk. Situated in the heart of the picturesque resort of Sheringham, the property offers stylishly designed reverse-level accommodation for six guests, with ample room for a canine pal. Full of character and quirky features, this unique former boathouse has been lovingly renovated, with wooden beams, exposed stonework and a balcony overlooking the village, making it a fantastic base for discovering the area’s gorgeous coastline and tranquil countryside.
Head upstairs into the light, spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner occupying the first floor. Featuring a high vaulted veiling with exposed timber beams, wooden flooring and an exposed stone wall, this is an ideal space for relaxing in at the end of a great day. The airy lounge is ideal for sitting back and enjoying a movie, and there’s a sociable dining space to the rear of the room, with a stylish, fully equipped kitchen to the side. Downstairs, there’s a pretty family bathroom and two delightful nautical-themed bedrooms, both with beamed ceilings: a cheerful double and a cosy family room with a king-size bed and bunk beds. Sliding doors open from the lounge onto a sweet enclosed patio with a table and chairs, providing a perfect spot for an evening meal as your pet lies by your side.
Sheringham has some wonderful dog-friendly places to eat and drink and is home to the pet-welcoming North Norfolk Railway. Dogs are allowed on nearby beaches including Overstrand and Salthouse (both within 6.5 miles). Inland you can help your pet explore Holt Country Park (7.5 miles) and the Felbrigg Estate (5.5 miles).
