Unfortunately, my experience was very similar to Steves, who wrote a review on this property only a month before I stayed there. Upon arrival, the inside temperature of the property was only 9C, and there was no hot water available. Attempts to raise this concern were not possible due to the help line not being staffed, and no other information oRead morer contact details were available within the property. The shutters, shower head, and cleanliness issues raised by the previous reviewer had not been rectified, as stated by holidaycottages.co.uk, or if they had, they had been damaged again. I found that there were loose floor tiles and a shaver point in one of the en-suite bathrooms, and the oven tripped the electricity on occasions. Raised my concerns at the first opportunity at 10 am the day after arrival, having spent an extremely cold and uncomfortable night at the property, only to be told I could not raise my complaint until my week's stay had concluded. I was, however, contacted by Caleb from the company during my stay, and after I had struggled with the heating and hot water issues, they were rectified by a plumber a day before I left to come home. I have since been offered a partial refund, which, although I rejected it, was still paid into my bank account. I considered leaving the property and returning home early, but not really an option due to the distance involved and as I had booked and paid for several festive activities in advance, particularly for the young children in my party of guests. Matter now referred to my credit card company under the Consumer Credit Act to independently investigate and adjudicate. Hide

The location has all the potential to be a great place to stay, unfortunately our reality did not live up to what was advertised. The heating did not work for a significant period of our stay, the rooms were at 16 degress and guests had to wrap up. When we wanted to raise this issue (Friday evening on arrival), we had to wait until 10am Saturday whRead moreen the customer service line opened. This made our Friday evening and Saturday morning very uncomfortable, with the heating not fixed until 1600 on the Saturday. The shower head was broken, the shutters looked like they'd been in a bar room brawl and the cleanliness left something to be desired in parts of the kitchen, i.e. the coffee machine. I raised a compliant during / post stay which was in-part resolved but did not address the true impact these elements had on our stay. This is supposed to be a premium location based on the price at least, unfortunately it failed to meet our expectations. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk: Thank you for your review. We were pleased to be able to provide you with a partial refund and the issues raised have been rectified. Hide

The Cattle Shed was perfect for our 3 generation family to stay in, together with our 2 dogs. There were lots of different areas to sit in or eat, so we could all be together or split into groups. The location was lovely and a great base, set between the villages of Binham and Wighton, both with their respective pubs and The Parlour for daytime mRead moreeals and cheese, milk and ice cream. There was so much to do locally, but would recommend renting a beach hut, Holkham Hall, Seal Trip from Blakeney and fish and chips from French's on Wells' harbour front. Hide
