Escape to the Cornish coast in this charming, pet-friendly cottage in the pretty town of St Ives. The property, which welcomes six guests and one furry pal, boasts a prime position in the heart of the town, surrounded by its quaint boutiques, galleries, cafes, and restaurants. Join the South West Coast Path, which passes through the town, or enjoy an excursion with the woofer to Penzance or Marazion, both within 9 miles.
A garden path and a small flight of stone steps lead to this traditional Cornish cottage. Inside, the holiday retreat is decorated in a homely style, with plush soft furnishings and coastal-themed artwork adorning the walls. The main living area is open plan, with a welcoming lounge area where you can all relax after a day at the beach. Two sumptuous sofas (one of which is a sofa bed that can accommodate a further two guests if required) are set around a TV/DVD, creating a cosy spot for enjoying movie nights as a group. The stylish kitchen area is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, and has hard flooring, making this a good place for the hound to set up camp. Completing the ground floor is a dining area for sharing mealtimes together. Upstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms, both decorated in calming, neutral tones. Choose from a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room or a family room with a small double and a set of bunk beds. A family shower room rounds off this coastal bolthole. Outside, you and your waggy-tailed companion can watch the world go by from the bench in front of the cottage. Parking is available in the nearby pay and display car park.
The cottage is right in the heart of Downalong, St Ives’ old fishing quarter. Here, you’ll find a fabulous array of woof-welcoming pubs and restaurants lining the pretty, cobbled streets. Just a short, 300-metre stroll brings you to Bamaluz Beach, which welcomes canine visitors all year. St Ives’ famous, sandy beaches, such as Porthmeor, still welcome hounds in the early mornings and late evenings in the summer months. Alternatively, journey just 3 miles to Porthkidney – a long, sandy beach where Rover can play all year round. Paw-friendly days out from the cottage include Land’s End and the Minack Theatre (both within 20 miles).
