This ground-floor apartment boasts a prime position, right in the heart of St Ives. The property welcomes four guests and one waggy-tailed chum, and suits couples and small families seeking a traditional seaside getaway. You’ll be less than 300 metres from the town’s Downalong area – the old fishing quarter, known for its fabulous eateries – and just 400 metres from a beach that welcomes woofers all year. Nearby doggy days out include Tehidy Country Park and The Cornish Seal Sanctuary (both within 20 miles).
The former fisherman’s hideaway is full of character, with whitewashed walls, exposed stonework, and beautiful beams. The property has a bright, open-plan layout and features stylish furniture, plush soft furnishings, and creature comforts throughout. The main living area has ample space for you and the canine to spread out and relax. After a day at the beach, sink into one of the plump sofas to read a book or watch TV, whilst Rover stretches out on the rug at your feet. At one end of the room is a country-style kitchen area with everything needed to cater for the group. With slate flooring, this is a good spot to set up the dog bed. Completing the living area is a rustic, farmhouse-style table for sharing mealtimes together. The bedroom is full of personality, with whitewashed walls and original stonework. Featuring a king-size bed and a single bed with an additional pull-out single bed, it’s the perfect room for families or friends sharing together. A contemporary bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, the walled courtyard is a real suntrap. You and the hound can relax here, surrounded by pretty pot plants, sharing an al fresco supper and basking in the Cornish sunshine.
The picturesque fishing town of St Ives has a fine collection of woof-welcoming pubs, restaurants, and cafes lining its quaint, cobbled streets. The town is renowned for its spectacular beaches, two of which (Bamaluz and Lambeth Walk) welcome four-pawed visitors all year. On the other beaches, such as Porthmeor, you and Rover can still enjoy early morning and evening strolls throughout the summer, and are welcome all day during winter months. The South West Coast Path passes through the town, offering fabulous walking opportunities. The stretch between St Ives and Zennor is particularly spectacular.
