Gaze out across the harbour and sea after bracing dog walks from this gorgeous, pet-friendly apartment in Cornwall’s St Ives. Enjoying an enviable, coastal position, the two-bedroom, second-floor bolthole, which sleeps six guests, is also in a great location for the South West Coast Path and pet-welcoming beaches.
Climb the interior staircase behind your waggy-tailed friend to enter your private quarters. Find yourselves in a light-filled, open-plan lounge/diner, where sliding glass doors frame the stunning sea views. Slide these back so you and your happy hound can step out onto the balcony to enjoy the fresh sea air. Call your chum to join you in the compact but well-designed kitchen space for his next hearty meal, then prepare something for everyone else as he dozes on the rug in the main room. Listen to music or find your favourite programme on the TV. As the sun sets over the sea, leave him sleeping in the living area, where the sofa can also be made up as a bed for two children if discussed in advance, and wander through to the main bedrooms. You have a double bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom, plus a twin. There is also a family bathroom. Enjoy breakfast out on the patio on summer mornings while your pal waits patiently for his first walk of the day. Parking is in a pay-and-display car park 200 metres away.
Bamaluz Beach, which is dog friendly all year round, is 500 metres from the apartment. Here you can also pick up the South West Coast Path, starting out with a walk around the green headland known as the Island. The National Trust’s Godrevy Beach, 10 miles away, makes a great day out as there are great swathes of the sand for your chum to run free on any time.
