Treat yourself to a getaway with your family and four-legged friend at this elegant and beautifully finished coastal home in the picturesque village of Thorpeness. From the external black wooden cladding and the thoughtfully designed garden to the warm, neutral-toned interiors with hints of French chic style, this property oozes beauty and tranquillity.
Natural light pours into the lounge through the bi-folding doors which lead out to the garden. Put your feet up on one of the two plump sofas to watch TV while Fido curls up in front of the wood burner. The kitchen/diner is spacious with farmhouse-style units, an American-style fridge/freezer and a dining table which seats six. There’s also a useful downstairs cloakroom with a WC. On the first floor are the two bedrooms – a super-king with a TV and an en-suite, and a zip-and-link super-king with an en-suite. Outside is an enclosed garden with a patio, BBQ and garden furniture.
Stay in the charming seaside village of Thorpeness and spend your time admiring the quirky buildings and mock Tudor and Jacobean architecture all around you. Stroll the shores of the boating lake (0.5 miles), which covers 3 acres, and wander down to the shingle Thorpeness Beach (less than 0.5 miles) – which allows four-legged friends between October and April. If you’re visiting during the summer months, take Fido for a swim at Sizewell Beach (3 miles on foot, 5 miles by car) which has no restrictions. If you’re feeling lazy, dine out at one of the two canine-welcoming restaurants in the village (within 0.5 miles). The nearby town of Aldeburgh (2 miles) has an array of seafood restaurants, nature reserves and shops.
