Lead the way to adventure in the heart of Devon and stay in this charming Victorian cottage. It’s the perfect place for a small family and their dogs to sniff out a good time, explore and bond. You’ll be staying in Kingsbridge, a historic town with lots to keep everyone entertained.
As you enter the property, you’ll find a lounge/dining area which is a great place to spend time with your family, eat together, organise a movie night or play some games while the dogs have a nap. After dark, light up the wood burner for a cosy glow. The kitchen is next door, convenient and well-provisioned. Upstairs, you’ll find the two bedrooms, one super-king-size and one twin, both comfortable, nicely decorated and finished with ornamental fireplaces. The real showstopper is the garden. It’s enclosed so your dogs can roam, and they’ll find plenty of plants to thoroughly sniff. You can enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee outdoors, or eat dinner with everyone on the raised area, which has a separate table with space for four. This overlooks a local park and is lovely on summer evenings.
You’ll be right in the centre of town with easy access to charming boutiques and dog-friendly pubs. There are lots of beaches around, including Mouthwell Sands (6 miles) which usually welcomes dogs, but it’s a good idea to check ahead of time. There are a few places to get ice creams and drinks nearby, and then you can walk over to South Milton Sands. This always allows dogs and is 1 mile away. As you journey, look out for the South Huish Wetlands Reserve, which welcomes 200 different species of bird each year. Anyone who enjoys history and spooky marine stories should visit Dartmouth, 13 miles from the property.
