A great location, with lovely walks from the cottage. Really quiet and peaceful, with great views from the bedroom window which overlooks Parkeston Quay and the River Stour - so atmospheric! We hope to return again with our golden retriever, in the not too distant future!

Lovely cosy accommodation, fantastic to have an enclosed garden for the dog, be aware that if you have any mobility issues the stairs are very steep.

What a lovely few days we had at Sparrow's Nest! It was just what we needed after a busy Christmas - being able to spend the twixmas period there was bliss! Although it was very cold outside, it was lovely and warm inside the cottage, with underfloor heating and thermostats in every room. The flow of the cottage is great and although, yes the stairRead mores to the bedroom and bathroom are a bit steep, it shouldn't be a problem for anyone with average mobility. The views from the bedroom are beautiful and the bath is awesome! I had a couple of bubblebaths while I was there and it was so lovely and relaxing. And a word for dog owners - our boy Henry (35kg) loved the enclosed garden! Even if he wanted to go to the toilet at 2am in the morning, it was safe to just let him out and watch from the porch. The gate is secure and the fences are strong, so we had no concerns about letting him have a run about out there. Bonus - it was big enough for him to do Zoomies :) All in all, a lovely few days away and we wouldn't hesitate to go back! Hide

A lovely quiet spot. Lots of easy walks close-by if you have a dog. Hardly see any cars at all which make any walking on roads very safe and easy.

Peaceful location. Lovely for walks and very pet friendly with enclosed garden. My 2 dogs enjoyed their break as much as we did. Cosy cottage with everything you need. The only downside was the housekeeping but we didnt let it ruin our experience and everything else was great.

Exactly what we were looking for in a Suffolk escape! Lovely to read a bit about the history of the property and have some of the original features still in place. The furnishings and facilities are well kept and provide a warming atmosphere. The steps to the bedroom just take a little getting used to. We shall be booking again!

Sparrows Nest is a lovely retreat for those wishing to totally recharge their batteries and experience the peace and tranquility of the countryside. We feel it only fair, however, that visitors should be made aware that the stairs are extremely steep and that the cottage is also a haven for spiders, so unsuitable for anyone with arachnophobia!
