Enjoy a couple’s getaway in this handsome cottage, superbly decorated and with views of rolling countryside from the garden. Just three miles from Kendal, it’s the perfect base for you and your canine companion to explore this beautiful part of the Lake District National Park.
Step into this beautifully converted property and head straight down the stairs (minding your head!) to the open-plan living space, where old and new combine in the form of exposed beams and a beautiful oak floor, with underfloor heating for added cosiness. The convenient kitchen is fitted across the far end, with a dining table for two opposite and, in the centre, a lounge area with a comfortable sofa and TV. Just off the living area is the king-size bedroom (twin on request), with ample storage space for clothes and floor space for your furry friend’s bed, too. Head back up the stairs, then up a further couple of steps, and you’ll find the gorgeous, granite-tiled shower room, with a double, walk-in shower and heated mirror. Outside, the enclosed garden has a private area designed for your use, with a table and chairs from which you can take in the spectacular views while enjoying a morning coffee or an evening tipple.
Near the small hamlet of Crook, the cottage is situated between Kendall, 3 miles, and Bowness-on-Windermere, 5 miles, and is just half a mile from a traditional Lakeland pub where muddy boots and mucky pups are welcome. Head to Bowness Pier for an unforgettable cruise around Lake Windermere on an elegant steamer, perhaps combining it with a ride on the old locomotive that runs from Haverthwaite to Lakeside. For four-pawed besties that love new experiences, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome on board both boats and trains.
