Property code: OC-KELLAN

This quirky cottage, just a short stroll from Mousehole harbour, offers the opportunity for a truly unique stay. With five bedrooms, accommodating up to eight people plus two dogs, you’ll be bowled over by the house with far-reaching sea views from the majority of its windows.

This well-equipped cottage has a real home-from-home feel thanks to plenty of charming finishing touches, such as local art and tactile soft furnishings. The ground floor has an open-plan living room and dining room, which is home to comfy sofas and an open fireplace for your dog to curl up next to. The whole room has spectacular harbour views to the front. The kitchen has everything you should need to self-cater while on holiday, and the utility area is almost like an extra kitchen. Just off the utility is a handy shower room ideal for showering off family members or dogs after muddy or sandy trips. Upstairs on the first floor are three bedrooms - two kings and a single - all with stunning sea views. There’s also a family bathroom here, but it’s the library on this floor with a baby grand piano that really sets the entire property apart. To complete the accommodation on the next floor, there’s a shower room and separate WC plus two further bedrooms: a single and a double. They both have access to a wrap-around balcony which leads to the courtyard garden below. The courtyard has a table and seating for al fresco dining.

Mousehole is an exceptionally pretty fishing village and retains a great deal of its charm thanks to bustling narrow streets which have independent shops, galleries and many a dog-friendly cafe or pub. At the southern end of Mousehole, the South West Coast Path offers mile upon mile of stunning walks for you and your dog.

Nice stay in the cottage, love the views. Just don't be to precious about your car if you park in the harbour. The sea gulls will plaster it as soon as you park up.

The Kellan is a beautiful home from home in the most stunning location. The property had everything we needed and more, so well equipped. A very generous welcome pack was waiting for us and there was a pint of local milk in the fridge, there were also plenty of toilet rolls. The lounge is so homely with stunning views to enjoy from the 2 arm chairRead mores and window seats. The bedrooms are very comfortable with quality bedding and pillows, the 3 front bedrooms have spectacular views. The enclosed courtyard is a lovely private area to sit out. We didn't use the library area, where the tv is situated, but this is so obviously a well used and loved part of the home. There is a fabulous large storage area with a downstairs loo and shower, ideal for when you come off the beach. There is parking on South Quay, just below the property, this was 10 for 24 hours when we stayed in March 2026. We were a group of 5 female friends in our 60's, it was one of the best weekends we have had together. We are hoping to book again, later in the year. Hide

Kitchen is brilliantly equipped, the whole place just feels very homely and comfortable and the additional workshop space area was ideal for storing wheelchairs etc. I swam twice a day only 50m away from the doorstep to the harbour at high tide. Very old and quirky cottage in an excellent location close to South Quay car park. Best suited for families, as opposed to a group of friends. As an old property the general facilities particularly bathroom, toilet and shower room are dated and require some attention. We loved this place. The house is 300-400 years old and has all the character youd expect from that kind of life. The downstairs living room is light and airy, and the views out the window are hard to pull your eyes from. The upstairs front bedrooms have even better views. There are original paintings in every room. Built around a small courtyRead moreard, there are two wings dedicated to sleeping, connected by a rich and interesting library in which theres also a tv, and a baby grand piano. I thought I might struggle with the aga as Im a gas cooker girl but it was a dream - especially comforting when swimming was a bit chilly. The kitchen is very well equipped. We spent a happy happy week and would love to come back. Hide
