Wake up to the sight and sound of the rushing East Lyn River in an idyllic cottage that’s perfectly placed for families or friends sharing and two VIPs—very important pets. This pretty, period property sleeps eight guests, plus two dogs and is within a 0.5-mile stroll of the picturesque harbour village of Lynmouth. Set on the banks of the river, the cottage is bright, light and simply furnished for comfort and style. There are lovely views from all main windows and two enclosed suntrap patios, with wonderful walks on Exmoor and the glorious coastline on the doorstep.

The cottage is full of character, with lots of space for your canine companions to stretch out for a nap after a day’s fun. Relax on a comfortable sofa in the cosy living room in front of a raised wood burner. The delightful white and pale wood kitchen/diner, with a part-vaulted ceiling, has stable doors leading outside, while the first floor houses two inviting bedrooms: a king-size and a twin. On the second floor are a double and a super-king-size bedroom. Outside, the pretty patios overlooking the river have garden furniture and a BBQ so ideal for spending time on warmer evenings

Stroll along the riverbank to Lynmouth for a browse round its independent shops, dog-friendly pubs and eating spots. Pets can romp all year round on the dog-friendly shingle beach, with it sheltered waters. Canine companions are welcome aboard the famous, water-powered funicular train which whisks you up to the twin village of Lynton, 152m above, with breathtaking views of the North Devon coast. From your holiday home, take the beautiful 2-mile walk to Watersmeet (with your pup on a lead), where the East Lyn and Hoar Oak rivers converge; then enjoy a Devon cream tea in the historic Watersmeet House tearoom.

Amazing ! Had a wonderful break at The Mariners Everything we needed was there . We really enjoyed the welcome pack after our long drive , It had a lovely homely feel, we soon relaxed. Ideal location for lots of walking . Really enjoyed our walk from the Mariners to Watersmeet . Will definitely return :-))

This property was an absolute dream to stay in. The location was stunning and we had everything we needed. The welcome basket was a really nice touch. We will definitely be returning.

Oh my goodness how difficult it is to leave this enchanting corner of the UK. The view from the Mariners front window is spectacular, camellias in full bloom, daffodils on the stone wall, the rapidly rushing river, the vertical wall of green, plus the stone wall we saw being built what a treat! A great location in Lynmouth. The property is amazingly well equipped and we had a lovely welcome basket and milk in the fridge, etc. Everything was beautifully presented and the rooms were all delightful. We never quite mastered the heating system but doubtless that was down to us. Our local point of contact, Elaine, was great and answered our queRead moreries so quickly. Definitely would like to return if we have the opportunity - have stayed in other properties in Lynmouth but this is our new first choice. Hide

Our second visit to this beautiful and spacious house, really well equipped and extremely comfortable, with lots of attention to detail. Fabulous walks from the door - woodland, riverside and coastal - all from the gorgeous and quaint village of Lynmouth. We will definitely book this property again.

We were very impressed with the cottage, it was an ideal place and setting for my family get together. The departure time was very early and with young children I can imagine departing on time could be a struggle, but we managed to get out by 9am.

Beautiful property which was spotlessly clean and perfect location. Lots of attention to detail in the property and very well equipped. The owners made our Christmas week very special providing table dressing and Christmas tree etc . They also provided lots of goodies in the house and it was warm and inviting.

The property is in the perfect location for a relaxing holiday by the river. Stunning scenery and walks in every direction. The house itself was comfortable and spacious and we look forward to returning again soon.
