An inviting Norfolk cottage in the village of Knapton is ideal for a small family or a couple with one four-legged third wheel for a restful holiday just 1.5 miles from the seaside village of Mundesley, with its sandy beach. Your pup will love a day out at Felbrigg Hall (10 miles), with its lovely circular walk through open fields, woodland and past a lake.
This welcoming two-storey cottage is full of character, including exposed beams throughout. The property has a wonderful mix of charm and contemporary comfort, ensuring a lovely stay. In the sitting room, light the wood burner in the cooler months and watch the TV while you cosy up on the sofas with four paws. Make your way into the kitchen/diner, where you can open the French doors onto the garden on warm days and rustle up a tasty treat with any delicious local fresh seafood you have bought. The dining area includes a pew from a local chapel and has a distinctly country-style feel to it. On the ground floor, there is also a family bathroom. When it is time to sleep, make your way upstairs to the first floor, where you’ll find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room and a double bedroom. Outside, you can enjoy the sunshine in the enclosed rear garden, perfect for the children or your hound to run around. Climb the steps that lead up to a gravel seating area and make the most of the fine evenings dining alfresco. For some quiet time, head to the bench on the lawned front garden.
Plan a day out in dog-friendly Cromer (8.5 miles) and walk along the pier and dine out on the town’s famous crab or visit Sheringham (12.5 miles) and hop on the North Norfolk Railway to Holt, a lovely Georgian town with plenty of boutiques and eateries to explore. Alternatively, head to National Trust Blickling Hall (12.5 miles) or follow part of the 22-mile Paston Way from the edge of the village of Knapton.
