A picturesque cottage situated at the end of a gated path and surrounded by mature foliage; this character-filled rural retreat is ideal for family gatherings or group getaways in the Cornish countryside with a floppy-eared friend. Scamper over the rocky outcrops to the hidden bay of Portheras Cove for some secluded beachfront zoomies (accessible from the Pendeen Watch Lighthouse car park), then fire up the chimenea and feast al fresco in the inviting stone courtyard.

This appealing Grad II farmhouse boasts a warm, earthy interior with deep wood and leather textures, granite stonework walls, and traditional beamed ceilings. Perch at the bench seat in the entrance hall and unclip muddy harnesses, then pad through to the cosy lounge and sink onto the padded leather sofas with a hot drink in hand and bask in the glow of the crackling wood burner. The resident chef can show off their knife skills in the charming shaker kitchen and whip up some locally sourced treats while the bartender gets to work mixing some post-adventure tipples. Gather around the wooden bench seat to feast in front of the impressive inglenook fireplace or curl up with your snoozy pup on the armchair. Retreat upstairs to the sleeping areas consisting of an en-suite king-size, a double, and a second king-size. Fido can take his pick of two leafy courtyards to sniff and explore.

Bound along the rugged coastline at Botallack and spot the crumbling engine houses clinging to the cliffside on the Tin Coast – the perfect backdrop to capture a blustery group snap, 1 mile. Soak in panoramic coastal views from the Pendeen Lighthouse viewpoint, 2 miles, or dive in for a surf session at Sennen Cove then refuel at the beach bar with a cold drink and a doggy ice cream, 8 miles.

This house is in a great location with lots of potential, however, fell far below the standard I expected having paid almost 2000. It was not clean and there was no attention to detail, very disappointing.

We recently for a week at Sunset Farmhouse and we absolutely loved everything about it! We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this was one of the best! The decor is so beautiful and in keeping with the age of property but with all mod cons, and homely touches. The bathrooms were clean and beautiful especially the knockout one downstairs. TheRead more towels were fluffy and the sheets were crisp and spotless. There was loads of storage for beach stuff and we never had a problem parking in the nearby places near the bus stop. It was great to be able to walk to the National Trust cafe at the mine and walk the dog along the tracks near the house. We loved St Just with its independent shops, cafes, handy co-op and art gallery. Location was fab for beaches and beautiful seaside villages like Mousehole. We would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful characterful cottage! Hide
