This striking period house enjoys a prime position on the seafront at Deal. The characterful coastal house welcomes six guests and one pup, and suits families or groups of friends seeking a memorable backdrop to their seaside getaway. The area is awash with dog walks to explore, including the Three Castles Walk and a delightful National Trust trail to admire the White Cliffs near Dover.
The Grade II-listed Georgian house features antique furniture, period fabrics, and opulent fixtures and fittings, giving the property an air of elegance and grandeur. At the heart of the retreat is a stunning lounge with high ceilings and French doors opening onto a Juliet balcony. Unwind in here, on the sumptuous seating, reading your book or watching the Smart TV. With an open fire and roaring wood burner, Fido will have plenty of cosy dozing spots to choose from, too. Downstairs in the basement is an open-plan kitchen/diner. With wooden floors and plenty of space, this is a good place to set up the dog bed. On the first floor is a master super-king-size bedroom with a window seat and en-suite bathroom. The two remaining bedrooms are on the second floor, along with the family bathroom. Outside, sip a glass of wine in the quaint courtyard on a summer’s evening. On-street parking is subject to availability.
Deal is a vibrant coastal town with a great selection of shops and eateries, many displaying ‘dogs welcome’ stickers. The town also hosts regular markets, where you can pick up delicious local produce and handmade gifts. Take a stroll with the hound along the promenade, or head to the pier for traditional seaside fun. The main beach in Deal has seasonal dog restrictions, but just 4 miles along the coast is Sandwich Bay, a stunning sand and shingle beach that allows four-pawed visitors all year.
