The loft is the perfect romantic hideaway. With stylish interiors and an enclosed kitchen-garden, it provides a relaxing base for a couple and their canine companion to enjoy the Cornish coast and country. It’s in a pretty, rural hamlet called Pothole next to Sticker in the middle of the gorgeous countryside with Welsh and Connemara ponies roaming nearby, just 6 miles from the ‘Cornish Riviera’.
Original features, including exposed stone walls, remind you that this property was once a hayloft and give it heaps of character. The kitchen/diner has a country-cottage feel to it with plenty of space to cook or chat with the chef. Unusually, the lounge, with its Smart TV and electric fire, is on the first floor, along with the beautiful double bedroom. Outside, you and your furry friend can relax or play in the enclosed garden, where there’s a BBQ for cooking delicious al fresco meals.
The loft is in a brilliant location for visiting both coastlines, whether you want to explore historic ports and towns, go surfing, or head out for a long beach walk. Newquay, on the more rugged north coast, is 14.5 miles away, and Mevagissey, to the south, is a 6-mile drive. St Austell is about 3.5 miles away where you’ll find lots of pubs, shops, and a cinema. You’re also near the Eden Project (7.5 miles) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (4 miles). Carlyon Bay, next to St Austell, sits between two AONBs (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) where there are stunning walks. It’s also near the historic port of Charlestown, the setting for several TV dramas, including Poldark. Par Sands Beach, across the bay from Carlyon, welcomes furry family members all year round and the port town of Fowey is within reach just 11 miles away along the coast.
