The rural retreat is in a secluded location and boasts stunning views across open countryside. Sleeping five guests and one pup, the property is ideal for families and groups of friends. You and your canine buddy can set off on foot and paw along the Glyndwr’s Way, or head further afield to explore Snowdonia National Park (8 miles). In the evenings, relax in the hot tub and soak up your tranquil surroundings. The owners are mindful of energy efficiency. The cottage's eco credentials include solar power, and water from a borehole, with waste water returned back into the ground via the treatment plant in the field. The firewood for the log burner and hot tub comes from fall timber sourced from a local family business 3 miles away.
The detached property is at the end of a no-through lane and combines period features with contemporary furniture and accessories. The property has an impressive three reception rooms: a striking lounge with a roaring wood burner, a cosy snug in the original hallway (the perfect place for the dog bed), and the TV room in the cellar. The open-plan kitchen/diner is the ideal setting for hosting memorable get-togethers, with a large table next to an arched window framing magnificent views. An oak staircase leads to the first floor, where you’ll find a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a double bedroom, and a single ( this room has sloping ceilings, so you may experience some restricted head height). A family shower room completes the accommodation. Outside, sink into the wood-fired hot tub, sip a wine at the picnic bench on the patio, or challenge your fellow guests to a game of table tennis in the barn. Nestled amidst nature, the shepherd's hut is a charming retreat that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. With two comfortable chairs positioned to capture the stunning landscape, it serves as a true paradise for birdwatchers. Complete with blankets and pillows, the hut invites you to relax and unwind in comfort after a day of exploring the great outdoors.
The quaint town of Llanfair Caereinion is 8 miles away and has some lovely walks along the River Banwy and around the arboretum. You can also hop on the paw-friendly steam train here, to journey along the picturesque route to nearby Welshpool, with its fine Georgian buildings, independent shops and eateries, and stunning canal. Also, out of season, you and your hairy sidekicks can explore the beautiful grounds of Powis Castle.
