After a day exploring the coast and splashing in the sea with your four-legged friends, return to your home-away-from-home and enjoy a BBQ in the garden while relaxing in the boat seating or warm cold paws and feet in front of the wood burner in the lounge. Your canine companions will also love having their very own shower in the porch for washing sandy fur.

As you step inside the cottage you’ll notice the laid-back and homely atmosphere in the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner. This space has a blue and neutral colour pallet and a quirky layout with stairs in the centre of the room which cleverly divides the space. Just 5.5 miles away is the harbour town of Ilfracombe, which has a host of independent restaurants serving up the finest freshly caught seafood. For long strolls amongst the deep valleys and serene rivers, Exmoor National Park (10 miles) is worth a visit.

The cottage is lovely and well equipped. Very comfortable seats, throws and cushions. It is well situated to see all of the area. There is a lovely pub a few minutes walk away that serves delicious food (but not open on Monday). We liked the 5 voucher to spend at the Community Shop.

Charming little cottage, located in a friendly village with a pub and community shop on your doorstep. It is ideally situated for the coast and we had a great week walking parts of SW Coast Path with our Border Terrier, Ned. Would recommend if youre looking for a comfortable base in North Devon.

Lovely cottage, in a great location. The village is very quaint with a lovely pub where we had a good meal. The only negative with the cottage was the very uncomfortable mattress in the main bedroom. We cut our trip shirt because of it. We would return but only if the mattress was improved!

Lovely cottage with lots of character. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Great location for exploring the area. A short walk back to the car park for loading/unloading, could be a little awkward for anyone with mobility issues. Great community shop. We really enjoyed our stay.

The peaceful little cottage was cosy, clean and thoughtfully decorated with some lovely quirky touches. Pretty and comfortable bedrooms. A little dark downstairs, but comfy sofa, log burner and nice little kitchen area with everything you need. Ideal for a couple or family with younger children. Lovely cool seaside colours. No direct accesRead mores to a garden so dog owners have a short, but safe and quiet, off road walk to the private enclosed garden and the community field beyond. Very quiet village. Friendly pub and well stocked community shop within a few minutes walk. No problem parking. Short drive to amazing beaches. Hide

We enjoyed our stay at July cottage, despite some cleanliness issues which we have raised with the owner separately. The location in the village is lovely, on a very sweet pedestrianised lane, and the village itself is about 20mins from Saunton, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, using narrow country roads mostly. The space is well organised and decoraRead moreted, and we had most things we needed for our stay. It's worth taking extra logs for the fire - we stayed at the end of summer when days were around 18 and the cottage was chilly at night, probably because it has very thick walls, so we needed the heat of the fire. Accessibility notes as someone who has mobility issues with a knee injury - there are steps between the main bedroom and bathroom once you're upstairs. The shower screen opens outwards into the bathroom to allow more space to climb in and out of the bath. A non-slip bath mat is provided. There are a couple of types of cobbles on the wall from the car park to cottage, and the ground is generally uneven. I found these cobbles slippery in wet weather. If you arrive on the dark, make sure you have a torch to walk to the cottage. If you're planning to use the second bedroom as an adult be aware it's a small single bed very low to the ground and isn't particularly comfortable. We would consider returning if assurances were made about the cleanliness issues we've raised. Hide
