Stay in a cosy North Devon bolthole with characterful original features and a charming coastal theme running throughout. After a day exploring the coast and splashing in the sea with your four-legged friends, return to your home-away-from-home and enjoy a BBQ in the garden while relaxing in the boat seating or warm cold paws and feet in front of the wood burner in the lounge. Your canine companions will also love having their very own shower in the porch for washing sandy fur.
As you step inside the cottage you’ll notice the laid-back and homely atmosphere in the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner. This space has a blue and neutral colour pallet and a quirky layout with stairs in the centre of the room which cleverly divides the space. The kitchen has sparkling surfaces and there is also a wooden dining table and chairs. Upstairs are the two bedrooms – a double and twin room for two children. There is also a family bathroom. Outside is a terrace with garden furniture.
Located in the small rural village of West Down, this property will provide a tranquil getaway. The village has a 17th-century pub which allows canines in the garden and bar area and is less than 0.5 miles away. The nearest beaches are Woolacombe (5 miles) and Putsborough (6 miles), both of which have dog-friendly sections all year round. Just 5.5 miles away is the harbour town of Ilfracombe, which has a host of independent restaurants serving up the finest freshly caught seafood. For long strolls amongst the deep valleys and serene rivers, Exmoor National Park (10 miles) is worth a visit.
