As well as offering a large, luxurious base for two plus a furry friend, this cottage is close to lots to see and do. It’s in the small village of Broad Oak with stunning walks, the Sussex coast, market towns, pubs, restaurants, vineyards, and country houses all nearby.
You arrive at the cottage via a pretty drive and go into a spacious open-plan living area with a wood burner and lots of space to relax in front of the Smart TV (with Netflix), while your pup snoozes by your feet. The bathroom is also on the ground floor. Up the spiral staircase is the huge king-size bedroom with gorgeous beams, a wooden floor, and another area to sit and chill. French doors in the living area lead out to the courtyard and garden where there’s a lawn and somewhere to sit and dine alfresco or laze with a good book while Fido plays with his favourite toy.
Grab the lead and head out for a walk on the waymarked paths around the 650 acres of Brede High Woods, 1.5 miles away; it’s home to amazing wildlife, including wild boars, fallow deer, and roe deer. The nearby Sussex coastline is stunning with 5 miles of golden sand at Camber (10.5 miles away) and dunes to explore. Other places to visit close by are Battle (7.5 miles), with its ruined abbey and battlefields, Hastings (8.5 miles) and the famous house and gardens at Great Dixter in Northiam (3.5 miles). The market town of Rye is 7 miles from the cottage with its famous cobbled streets, antique shops, pubs, and restaurants. In Broad Oak, you’ll find a shop and a pub, it’s also home to an independent brewery with a taproom.
