An inviting coastal property perched above the glistening waters of St Margaret’s Bay set on the Saxon Shore Way, this peaceful hideaway is the perfect retreat for all the family - two legs or four! Scamper down to the white cliff-backed shingly shores of St Margaret''s Bay for plenty of wave-crashing fun, then recline in the tranquil lookout room and indulge in an afternoon sweet treat and well-earned chew for your salty pup.

This homely property boasts a light-flooded nautical interior with cream and navy tones, antique details, and bright social spaces. Towel down your sandy dog on the porch then potter into the airy lounge with a feature bay window and rest up weary feet as you sink onto the comfortable sofas. Treat your hungry hound to his supper in the spacious wooden kitchen, then prepare some locally sourced snacks for the rest of your pack. There is also a handy utility room to spruce up any mucky pups. Pour some drinks and gather in the formal dining space for a celebratory family meal beneath the carved chandelier, then retreat upstairs to the lookout room for an evening tipple or hot drink beneath the stars. Rest up in the calming sleeping areas consisting of a king and a triple room with a double and a single bed, each with sparkling sea views. Early risers can catch some morning rays in the sunken patio garden with outdoor furniture after walkies with Fido.

Brave a brisk morning dip in the ocean with your doggy-paddling pal, 400 metres, then grab the camera and gear up for a blustery clifftop amble along the St Margaret’s Bay Walk to South Foreland Lighthouse, 1 mile. History buffs and cultured canines alike will delight in sniffing out the ruins of medieval Dover Castle, 4 miles, or head inland to Canterbury, 20 miles, for cathedrals and pup-friendly local eateries.

Rockmount is in a lovely location, very quiet and a beautiful view from the 'Lookout'. A shame that house and garden were rather neglected. There was no welcome pack on arrival, the heating and the outside lighting didn't work and there were no instruction manuals for TV, heating, outside lighting, garbage collection etc. The carpets were loose in Read moretwo rooms and there was mould in the porch. We would also recommend that the curtains in both south facing bedrooms should either be supplemented by blackout-blinds or replaced by darkening curtains. Hide

It is also incredibly quiet as it is a no through road and we found the neighbours and locals in the area were extremely friendly.
