This tastefully decorated and quaint cottage, situated on the water’s edge in Helford, is great for families or groups of friends. Spacious and bright inside, with a delightful patio outside, guests (canine or otherwise) will enjoy a trip here. The close proximity to the river and the village’s pub means that everything you should need is on your front doorstep.
You enter through that charming patio, with the front door opening into the open-plan living and dining room. It has plenty of character thanks to a feature stone fireplace with a wood burner that any furry friends will inevitably curl up in front of after a long day out in the water. For you, there’s a TV and comfortable sofas to kick back and relax. The kitchen, in nautical-themed blue and ivory, is at the other end of the room and has everything you should need to rustle up meals while on holiday. The kitchen’s underfloor heating will keep feet and paws toasty at any time of year. Next to the kitchen is the utility room, with a Belfast sink, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, and second fridge, a perfect area for storing coats and muddy boots.
Upstairs, there’s a family bathroom and a double bedroom with spectacular river views. The bunk room is a nautically-themed walk through room with full-length 2’6” wide beds and small selection of toys in the under-bed storage drawers leading to the master bedroom with a super-king-size bed.
Outside, the patio is a real sun trap which runs the length of the property with garden furniture. There''s a useful separate utility room, with a washer and dryer, plus a second WC. With the outside hot water shower on the patio, it’s ideal for sandy wetsuits, kids and dogs. Finally, the cottage comes with its own all-tide mooring, which guests can use with their own boat for an additional charge.
Getting on the water is a must in Helford. The coves around the estuary mean it''s easy to find a private sandy cove for a picnic. Plus, Helford itself is a pretty village with a pub and a shop, with many stunning walks along the coastal path.
