At a glance

  • Stylish barn conversion in rural surroundings, on the outskirts of Roughton
  • Character property with a host of traditional features and contemporary facilities
  • Part of a small complex of three properties, with hot tub, and entertaining areas
Property code: OC-1654

A beautifully presented barn conversion nestled on the fringes of Roughton and ideally situated for sun-soaked adventures along the Norfolk coast. This charming hideaway is ideal for a small family or friends’ reunion with up to three honorary four-pawed members. Furry food connoisseurs can peruse the extensive ‘Hound Menu’ at the doggy cafe in Cromer (3.5 miles), before stretching out for a snooze on the lawn while the humans sip an al fresco aperitif.

This vibrant property blends traditional charm with contemporary flair. Picture rustic wooden beams, exposed stone walls, sleek tile flooring, and colourful artistic touches. Slip off muddy harnesses at the door then step into the impressive open-plan heart of the home. Kick back on the comfortable sofa beneath the vaulted beamed ceiling or warm chilly paws in the heat of the crackling wood burner. Sip a brew and itinerary plan, perched at the colourful dining table or congregate for a celebratory feast. Pad beneath the double stone archways to the homely shaker-style kitchen and perch at the breakfast table with a drink or rustle up a meaty supper for your hungry hounds. As the night draws in, rest up in the airy twin or bright king-size with patio doors – perfect for early morning moseying in the enclosed garden. After a day of adventuring, enjoy a restorative soak in the shared hot tub (available from March 2023).

Get noses twitching with a saunter along the bustling Victorian Cromer Pier (3.5 miles) or stroll beneath the sweet chestnut trees on the tranquil grounds of Felbrigg Hall (3 miles). Playful pups can bound, dig, and wave-chase to their little heart’s content on the rugged cliff-backed shores of West Runton Beach (5.5 miles) before tackling a chew at the waterfront cafe.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin
  • 1 bathroom with shower over bath and WC
  • Electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine
  • Tumble dryer in garage, shared between 3 cottages
  • Welcome pack
  • Travel cot and highchair available on request
  • Wood burner, logs provided
  • Flat screen Freesat TV, DVD
  • Poor/no mobile signal at the property ¬– signal can be obtained at the end of the driveway
  • Small lawned garden with charcoal BBQ, table and chairs.
  • Parking for One or Two cars with EV charging points at nearby Felbrigg Hall or in nearby Cromer.
  • Dog treats provided
  • Hot tub: Exclusive to the property 5-seater hot tub with 24 hydrotherapy jets and LED lighting at an additional £55 charge. Please request it on the booking form by ticking the relevant box (you will come to the booking form after clicking “Book My holiday” or “Book Now"). The £55 cost of the hot tub is not included in the price you see on the booking calendar on this page. The £55 is per booking and sadly can’t be reduced for shorter stays as the majority of the energy cost arises from initially having to heat up the water. Although the owners do their best, they cannot always guarantee the water will be fully heated up to 38 degrees for the first night of a booking.
  • Shop and pub 0.5 miles
  • Beach 4 miles
  • This property can be booked alongside 2 other properties, Blackberry Cottage (1762) and Hawthorne Cottage (1653)
  • This property will be decorated for Christmas
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 4 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Great cottage, well equipped, even had the essentials. Both of our dogs loved the walks and settled in easily. Would recommend and will return in the future.

Excellent property with everything we needed for our family of 4 and dog. The welcome pack was a really nice touch. We enjoyed the log burner, hot tub and the peace of quiet of the location. Beds were super comfy, spotlessly clean & plenty of space. It was a bonus to discover a little snug for the kids up the ladder in the kitchen. The local fish aRead morend chip shop is delicious & plenty of nice beaches & pubs within a short drive. We loved our stay & would not hesitate to recommend this property to others. Hide
