Property code: OC-MAGAZI

This charming, detached, traditional Cornish cottage is set in the hills of Lamorna Cove and is the perfect coastal retreat for couples or a family and their four-legged third wheel. Access to the South West Coast Path is right on the doorstep, and a walk through the woods towards St Loy''s Cove (5.5 miles) will get tails wagging.

The cottage is reached by a steep flight of steps through the terraced garden. As you enter the distinctive former dynamite store for the quarry, the beautiful exposed beams and cottage-style staircase immediately catch your eye. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room is the perfect place for you and your hound to relax. The wood burner and cosy sofa in the living room ensure you can look forward to relaxing evenings watching the TV while your pup snoozes, warm from nose to tail. Adjacent to the living room is a conservatory/dining area where you can enjoy the beautiful coastal views throughout the day, and a kitchen completes the ground floor features. Upstairs is a family bathroom and two bedrooms: a double with a balcony overlooking the bay and a twin. Outside, the lush subtropical garden offers plenty of space for al fresco dining, with a decked area and patio furniture to enjoy in fine weather. The terraced gardens continue up the hillside with additional decked areas available to enjoy the magnificent coastal views.

Visit Lands End (8.5 miles) and the hidden gem of Nanjizal (7.5 miles) with its year-round dog-friendly beach where your four-legged friend can run around while you swim in the shallow waters. Or head to the Penwith Heritage Coast (8 miles), where Gwynver Beach welcomes your dog all year round. This house is in a stunning location. It's well arranged and you feel like you're in a real holiday home and can relax. It's toasty warm. The gardens are stunning. We know Lamorna so expected to travel to eat so the lack of hospitality at the Wink was no hardship. The car spaces with the house are totally adequate for two small cars - no need foRead morer extra permits. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing this special place. Hide

Loved the fabulous views over the bay which were stunning whatever the weather! The cottage is comfy & well equipped. I especially appreciated the electrical socket next to a mirror & stool in the bedroom ,so that I could blow dry my hair in comfort( this is often missing from holiday rentals!)The cafe in the cove sells delicious crab sandwiches Read more& we also had a lovely meal with freshly caught fish at the Lamorna Wink pub. Stunning location for a get away from it all holiday. The cottage has beautiful and unusual gardens and loads of separate areas to relax and chill out. The outside shower was much appreciated after getting back from swimming or diving in the cove. The only thing I think worth pointing out is that the parking ramp directly below the cottage is eaRead moresily long enough for two cars, but is quite narrow which may be an issue with the trend towards ever wider cars - my car is 1951mm wide and just made it in. The main thing going for The Magazine is its position over looking the Cove. But it's also a very comfortable and traditional cottage. It's well equipped inside and out and has good WiFi. In the winter the cafe is closed and the pub only opens at weekends but there's plenty of places to go in Mousehole (a hour or so walk), Newlyn and Penzance

We loved the location and cottage and have rebooked for summer - just a little improvement on cleanliness would make it perfect.

The cottage and location were both wonderful, just a short stroll to the cove and fell asleep to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Sebastian at Original Cottages was extremely helpful with updating our parking details and emailing to confirm, nothing was too much trouble. Hope to be back very soon

We are completely in love with this cottage. We didn't have the best of weather whilst we were there but because the cottage was so cosy and comfortable with such beautiful views out over the cove that it didn't really matter. The conservatory was the perfect place to spend time and watch the sea when it was too wet to be out. The outside space waRead mores intriguing with various areas for relaxing and cheeky little models hidden amongst the rocks and plants in the vertical garden. We really hope that we can come back and stay here again soon. Hide
