Bursting with Cornish charm, this holiday home enjoys a prime position on Porthleven’s seafront. The property sleeps five guests and two woofers, making it perfect for families and groups of friends. Take pre-breakfast walks around the bustling harbour, or get the ears flapping on a jaunt along the South West Coast Path, before returning for coffee and pastries on the terrace. From the cottage you can take day trips to Penzance, Mousehole, and The Lizard Peninsula (all within 17 miles).
The Victorian property has been carefully renovated to preserve its period features and original character. Many of the rooms boast sea views and there is a sense of grandeur thanks to elegant, custom-built furniture. The spacious lounge has high ceilings, a bay window overlooking the harbour, and ample room for the dog beds. Curl up in the window seat with a book, stretch out on the plump sofas to watch the TV, or gather around the dining table for evenings of great food and laughter. There is also a stylish kitchen on the ground floor. Upstairs, three tasteful bedrooms await: choose from a king-size, twin, or single. A large shower room completes the property. Outside, share an al fresco meal on the terrace, whilst the hounds bask in the sunshine and you admire the far-reaching sea views.
Porthleven is extremely paw friendly, with many of its shops, galleries, and restaurants happily welcoming waggy-tailed visitors. You’ll also find cosy pubs to snuggle up in after a long walk with Rover and Fido. The town’s beach is a mixture of sand and shingle, and has a designated area for four-legged beach-goers at its eastern end. At low tide, there’s a lovely 1.5-mile shoreline stroll that you and the hounds can take to Loe Bar, which has Cornwall’s largest natural freshwater lake.
