Escape to the coast in this romantic bolthole for two humans and two hounds in Porthleven. The historic fishing port is full of hidden gems to sniff and explore, from fascinating art galleries to windswept coast paths. The cottage is also within easy reach of the remote landscape of the Lizard Peninsula. After a day of sightseeing, sip a glass of wine in your enclosed courtyard, or snuggle up in front of the wood burner.
The Victorian fisherman’s cottage has been lovingly renovated, carefully combining contemporary design with original features. Clean, crisp decor creates a feeling of calm throughout the property, and subtle lighting sets the mood. The inviting lounge has comfortable seating to snuggle up on to watch the Smart TV, whilst Rover and Fido doze in front of the wood burner. Stairs lead to the lower ground floor, where you’ll find a bright and airy kitchen/diner. There is also a comfortable seating area with another Smart TV. With direct access to the garden, this is a great place for the woofers to set up camp. On the first floor you’ll find a king-size bedroom (can be made up as a twin on request), along with a stylish shower room. Outside, an enclosed courtyard awaits, where the hounds can hang out and you can dine alfresco.
Head out of the property and into the heart of Porthleven. Enjoy a walk with the furballs around the bustling harbour, before finding a cosy spot in one of the traditional Cornish pubs for lunch. In the afternoon, blow away the cobwebs on Porthleven Beach (the area to the east welcomes four-legged visitors all year). Alternatively, let your waggy-tailed friends lead the way along the South West Coast Path, where you can admire the views across Praa Sands and towards Saint Michael’s Mount.
