We had a family break for a special occasion and the cottage was ideal in every way although expensive, as we only stayed 3 nights. The location was great for all Newlyn's amenities but you need to be able to manage the hills!

Third year in a row staying there. Love Newlyn and well positioned. Current road closures make it difficult for deliveries so we had to haul 300 food shopping down the hill. The new parking situation is much better and comfortably fits two cars and would squeeze three in as well. Garden has a secret garden feel and the hot tub is lovely treat lRead moreooking out at the lights whatever the weather. Being in Newlyn the opportunity to cook fresh fish every night is superb. The cooker is great and was lovely to see my thermopen still there after I left it last year! Good having two lounge areas and really generous in who gives a crap toilet paper. Hide

We had a fabulous 4 night stay at Orchard Cottage, Newlyn. My party of 8 + 2 dogs really loved it. Great kitchen and lounge space. The views are stunning from every window. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over the water from the large viewing window and outside from the patio area. The hot tub was a great treat! . Parking was a tight squeeze but weRead more did manage to get 3 cars on the drive. Beds were very comfortable. Our dogs also had great fun running laps of the house, I would highly recommend this property. Hide

Beautiful large cottage with lovely furnishings. All rooms were tastefully fitted with everything that you need. The view from the garden and windows were fabulous overlooking the fishing harbour. I suggest that you put the waste bin across the drive to stop anyone parking there when you go out as parking is very restricted.

Orchard cottage is a beautiful period property with lovely proportions. It was perfect for our group of 2 families of four with tweens/teens. The youngsters loved the hot tub, the large TV and their equal sized bedrooms. Kitchen is beautiful and well equipped for cooking for 8. Beds are all comfy. We ate Sunday lunch at the fisherman's arms in NRead moreewlyn - food was delicious and the staff were really helpful fitting us all in. This is a great location for exploring West Cornwall. Mousehole, St Ives, Sennen, lands end, Minnack all within 20-30 mins. We particularly loved Porthkidney beach for the dogs- you can park for free near St Uny church. Gwithian towans beach is also gorgeous but dog friendly section cannot be accessed on a high tide. Nanjizal beach is really quirky with breathtaking cliff walks to access but definitely no longer a hidden gem! Newlyn has a lovely cinema with a bar. Penzance has a great range of useful shops and some nice independent shops too. Decent playpark for under 11s and a skate park. We would definitely love to return! Hide

We had a lovely stay at Orchard Cottage in August 2024. We were 4 adults and 4 children and found the property very spacious. The kitchen is well equipped, and we were able to cook nice dinners in there. The rest of the cottage is decorated really nicely, and the lounge is large. We had good weather, but there are plenty of DVDs/games/books should Read morethe weather be bad. The views from the terrace are amazing, and it is nice to sit out there. The hot tub was a treat, and the children really enjoyed this. It is only 5 minutes walk into Newlyn, where you can find fresh fish, fantastic ice cream, galleries and other nice shops. The walk back up to the house is steep but not too bad. The entrance to the driveway is quite tight, but it was fantastic to have a driveway for 2 cars given the roads are all very narrow and busy. Would thoroughly recommend. Original Cottages were also very helpful and attentive to our needs. Hide
