You can’t beat a traditional farmhouse for pet-friendly accommodation, and this huge one in western Cornwall has plenty to please dogs and humans alike. It’s got a garden and a small meadow where canine guests can frolic happily, and is just 1.5 miles from the South West Coast Path for when you want to sniff out some stunning scenery with your four-pawed pal. There’s space for up to eight people and two dogs, so it’s ideal for an extended family holiday or a big group of friends.

The rooms are large yet cosy in this charming holiday home. Original features like old ceiling beams and a stone fireplace give the property a rustic feel. In the well-equipped country-style kitchen, there’s an Aga for creating wonderful meals that you can enjoy together at the wooden table. The colourful triple-aspect lounge has ample sofa space and a TV, plus a wood burner your pet will love curling up next to. One of the bedrooms is downstairs while the other four are on the first floor, and there’s a family bathroom with a luxurious roll-top bath.

You’ll find lots to do in the surrounding area, be it sipping a drink in a dog-welcoming pub (1.5 miles) or spending a scenic afternoon playing fetch out in the fresh air. You may choose to walk along the coast to Land’s End (3 miles) stopping at the dog-friendly Nanjizal Beach (1.5 miles) on the way. The Museum of Global Communication at PK Porthcurno (1.5 miles) allows dogs in the museum and cafe, while the Minack (2 miles), a spectacular open-air theatre overlooking the sea, permits dogs on leads during daytime visiting hours.
