Pack your bags and head to the North Devon coast, where you’ll be surrounded by secluded coves, dog-walking routes and the charming buzz of the town. After spending a day in the fresh air and exploring the local area, head back to the terraced bolthole with sea views and play some games with your guest in one of the snugs before tucking into a hearty meal in the dining room.
Step in through the entrance hall where you can hang up your coast, then continue into the comfortable lounge with a gas fire and plenty of books to choose from. The galley kitchen is bright and neatly organised. Also on the ground floor is the first snug with games and toys inside and a dining room. On the first floor are two bathrooms and two bedrooms – a twin and a double. Climb another set of stairs to reach another snug with a PlayStation and two bedrooms – a double and a twin. Outside is a patio and lawned area with garden furniture.
Perched on high ground overlooking Ilfracombe, from the moment you step outside you’re only 0.5 miles from the town centre and harbour. Here you’ll find Demien Hirst’s infamous bronze statue, Verity (1 mile), dog-friendly tea rooms and restaurants. The hand-carved Tunnels beaches (1 mile) are well worth a visit and you can choose between White Pebble Beach (2 miles), Ilfracombe Beach (1 mile), Wildersmouth Beach (1 mile) and Rapparee Cove (0.5 miles) for a swim, which are dotted around town’s seafront. You’ll also benefit from the two nature reserves nearby – Hillsborough (1 mile) and Cairn Nature Reserve (2 miles).
