Treat your canine pal and bring along the family too, this impressive four-story property is the perfect retreat for your Whitby holiday. Set at the heart of this enchanting fishing village, your lavish accommodation sleeps eight humans and two hounds in complete comfort. Scamper through the pretty streets, wolfing down the local delicacies and discovering the breathtaking scenery of the endless coastline. Overlooked by the imposing ruins of the Abbey, you’ll be taking a step back in time as you delve further into Whitby’s fascinating history.

Built in 1855 and accessed via the walled front garden, you’ll soon find yourself padding up the steps ready to sprawl by the wood burner in the lounge. It’s a wonderful spot for enjoying morning coffee, watching TV or admiring the views over to the marina. Mealtimes are an extravagant affair in the kitchen, where you’ll discover all the essentials for preparing a feast. Completing the ground floor are a utility/drying room and a bathroom. The first floor is home to a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and the second lounge on this floor will set tails wagging with its TV and wood burner. The second floor is equipped with two more king-size bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms, and the fabulous attic room on the third floor has a double bed, single bed and en-suite shower room. Have a ball in your private garden to the front of the property, relaxing on the sun terrace with a drink and some delicious snacks. There is also a safely enclosed rear patio for relaxing and unwinding.

Sniff out the best places to explore, investigating the ruined Abbey and satisfying your appetite with classic fish and chips by the harbour. West Cliff (1 mile) is a wonderful bucket-and-spade beach 1 mile away - but your pup will likely prefer the welcoming sands at Tate Hill (0.5 miles), over the Swing Bridge. Further afield, Goathland (9 miles) is set amidst the spectacular North Yorkshire Moors, which will prove very tempting for walkies.

Wonderful location, we didn't use the car all week! Loved seeing the steam engine every day with a great view over the river and town, all the way to the Abbey from the first floor lounge window. Plenty of shared spaces to hang out together or get some peace and quiet. Great having so many bathrooms!

Thank you for providing us with the perfect home for welcoming in 2018. The 'local' advice proved useful, the 'welcome pack' was tasty and our short break away here has been very enjoyable. All the best for the new year!
