Set on a glorious wooded hillside overlooking the Dyfi Valley, this wonderfully welcoming traditional cottage has a charming country feel and invites four waggy-tailed companions to explore this part of Wales, too. Sleeping six people and a homely feel, this is the ideal property for a family or a get together of friends.

From the moment you step through the doors of this cottage, you are greeted with a lovely warm and homely atmosphere which follows through the whole house. With plenty of space and lots of natural light, the lounge is the social hub of the home. The traditional stone walls, high ceilings, comfy sofas and a crackling wood burner all make for a relaxed stay from the hustle and bustle. Whip up a storm in the kitchen/diner which boasts dramatic high ceilings and rustic wooden beams, bringing plenty of character to the space and equipped with everything needed to plate up Welsh produce. While your four-legged friends snooze in the lounge, head to one of the bedrooms to get a good night’s sleep. Downstairs, a bedroom has wheelchair access with underfloor heating and can be used as a super king-size room or as a twin. Upstairs are two twin rooms; one with wonderful exposed beams and lots of storage space for doggie treats and the other, with more storage and a cute “gallery” window which overlooks the kitchen and brings a unique style to the room. When it’s time to wash up before bed, a large wet room with WC serves as a shared bathroom, and has disabled access and handrails for added assistance. The outdoor garden space at the back of the property is ideal for stretching furry legs first thing, while adults can make a fresh pot of tea and sit at the tables and chairs.

When it’s time for walkies, follow the footpath through the garden to Llyn Ruck lake, which has incredible views of the Dyfi Estuary and sea. With acres of countryside on your doorstep, pups will love the mixture of walks that the Brecon Beacons offers. For a unique shopping experience, visit Machynlleth, a local market town just one mile from the house, which is home to independent boutiques, galleries, antique shops and more. You’re sure to find something exclusive to take home as a souvenir. Nature enthusiasts will love being within close proximity to one of only 6 designated biospheres in the UK. Wet grassland, salt marshes, lakes, mountains, ancient woodland and more is available to sniff out and could lead to an adventure every day.

Beautiful location up a long drive way, this cottage is tucked away in it's own grounds with a walks on your door step to stretch the dogs or own legs without getting in to your car. The property is spacious and very well equipped, the ground floor bedroom and accessible bathroom are perfect for families with accessible needs and we absolutely fouRead morend this to be such an easy space for my disabled elderly mum to move around. The unlimited firewood was a real god send as we stayed from 27th December to 3rd Jan 2026 with a very cold and snowy new year. The sitting room is beautiful snug and perfect for cosy days and nights in. The kitchen is well equipped and from the patio doors we were treated to lots of wild birds feeding every morning including up to 8 pheasants both male and female, a woodpecker and lots of smaller birds. Location is perfect for exploring too. 5 min drive to the local town which houses everything you need. And highly recommend a meal at black lion inn derwenlas. The owners also had decorated the property for Christmas, left us a Christmas welcome hamper and checked in on us on our first morning that we didn't need anything. The perfect stay that allowed us to make fantastic memories as a family. Hide

The cottage and location are both excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and as mentioned in the guest review diary, the bird feeders are absolutely amazing, we probably spent more time watching them than tv. Definitely one to re-visit.

A lovely, spacious cottage, with a superb dining kitchen. Well away from the road up a quiet track. Lovely and warm, with plenty of wood for the log burner. Lots of outside space and very private. Great parking. A peaceful and comfortable place to escape to. Great location for beaches and mountains.
