The area is lovely with extremely friendly locals and lots of dogs, was pleasantly surprised on how busy the town and beaches were for the time of year. Found the property a little lacking at this price point. No en-suite (even though advertised) just two shared bathrooms. Only a single TV in the living room, would have expected a TV in all bedroomRead mores. They dont want dogs going upstairs but no stair gate supplied. Normally at this price would expect a welcome hamper with some local produce, did however get a six pack of mince pies but again at this price point would expect more. Upstairs bedrooms were cold, the single room had an oil heater supplied which helped a little. Hide

Lovely place to stay. Enclosed garden so your dog will be safe. 20 minute walk into Porthcawl with stunning views. Ideally placed for shopping or beach/nature reserve walks. Very comfortable bedrooms and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. Highly recommend.

House was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Good size garden with furniture. Short walk to Rest Bay and a picturesque 20/30 minute walk into Porthcawl. Margam country park worth a visit. Will stay again if in area.

Great location for walking to Rest Bay (NB. Dogs not allowed on this beach between 1st May & 30th Sep. Although the headland is full of footpaths with a sea view & benches). Easy flat walk along the sea front into Porthcawl and its shops. Nice fish shop called The Fisherman's Cat. We booked originally as we have family in next village and would comRead moree back again. Inside very spacious and importantly easy to keep cool as we were in a heat wave. Nice size garden with real grass and a good sized terrace. Ate outside with family. Lots of takeaway shops who will deliver. Locks Lane easy to find and house has easy off road parking. Hide

The house is very well equipped and is large and airy. We visited during the hottest week of the year so far but the downstairs remained cool and we could sit comfortably in the lounge with the door to the garden open. Our puppy was free to pop in and out whenever she wanted as the lovely garden is fully enclosed. Upstairs again was large and airy Read moreand the king size bed very comfy. The fan provided was reasonably quiet and in conjunction with some open windows managed to keep the temperature down at night. Self-catering was easily achieved at the house with a very good range of kitchen equipment available, the local Aldi was excellent and provided all the groceries we needed. The location was superb being only a few minutes walk from the beach at Rest Bay. We spent most days walking in the dunes at Kenfig Nature Reserve, a ten minute drive away, or at Merthyr Mawr Nature Reserve which can be accessed from Newton Beach car park from the west or the reserve car park, a 20 minute drive to the east. Dog-friendly beaches can be reached easily from both reserves and the wildlife and flora at both are incredible. We thought the village of Nottage was lovely with three very nice pubs. Overall, it was a fabulous stay and we look forward to coming back to explore more of the area. Hide
