Experience country life at this pup-friendly couple’s retreat, where pet pigs and a games room add entertainment value. While here, you’ll be able to observe the daily routines of a busy dairy, beef and sheep farm plus relax with riverside walks and even a spot of fishing.

Exposed beams and feature brickwork add to the homely feel of this semi-detached hideaway, which accommodates two people and a pair of canine loved ones. On the ground floor, a cute kitchen with a breakfast bar and bar stools has an arched serving hatch through to the living/dining room. Here, a brick fireplace houses a wood burner-effect electric fire, and comfortable sofas suggest snuggly evenings in front of the TV while the dogs snooze at your feet. When they need a sniff of fresh air, simply open the large patio doors onto the enclosed garden. Upstairs, a light and airy bedroom can be set up with either twin beds or a king-size. Sloping ceilings create a restful setting for sleep while windows on three sizes allow in light; a similarly airy bathroom completes the upper floor layout. Your living space is extended by the enclosed garden, which is shared with guests in the neighbouring cottage. Fire up the BBQ – not forgetting extra sausages for the dogs – and dine alfresco, then enjoy an after-dinner game of pool or darts in the shared games room next door. (please request access to this from the owners)

There’s plenty to do on laid-back days here: make friends with the farm’s Kunekune pet pigs or try your hand at fishing – two rivers pass through the property. When you’re ready for a wander, riverside walks lead to the village of Meifod (2 miles), or you could drive 7 miles to the market town of Welshpool and then follow the Montgomery Canal towpath to historic Newtown. Alternatively, in summer you can ride the dog-friendly steam train from Welshpool to the rural community of Llanfair Caereinion – the gradients are the steepest in Britain!

E- vehicule charging is available at an additional £20/week.

The cottage was very clean tidy and cosy big enough for the 2 of us....the dog had no issues...garden was big enough...remember it is a working farm and they milk cows twice daily...which didn't bother us.

Beautiful stay, accomodation, family. The fact it's a working farm did NOT detract from the peacefulness. High class accomodation and facilities. Have already looked at returning. Would recommend very highly for a stay cation.

The cottage was comfortable unfortunately we did not have hot running water. The early morning milking of the cows was a bit noisy and the smell from the adjacent pig pen was strong. The cottage owner was very friendly and helpful. You need your car to get around as walking could be a bit risky on the busy roads with no pavements.

Fantastic spacious and warming cottage on a working farm. All staff were so friendly and welcoming. Being on a working farm there was so much to see and do. Bedroom was large and spacious and the downstairs living area more than big enough for us as a couple and a dog. Large shared garden in the rear with outdoor seating and bbq facilities was a nRead moreice touch (albeit too wet to use when we visited). Onsite Milk station for fresh milk and cheese was also very convenient with a high quality of product. Hide

The property is cosy and warm. The kitchen is well equipped. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in. If you don't like farmyard noises and smells, this is maybe not the cottage for you, but we loved it all, a very different experience. The garden, shared with the holiday cottage next door, was fully enclosed so very safe for our dogRead more. The friendly owners were on hand if needed but not intrusive. We would certainly recommend this cottage and had a thoroughly relaxing time. Hide

Thoroughly enjoyed. Please don't book if you don't like the smells and noise of a farm. We loved it, enjoyed watching the cows get milked and the host was lovely and approachable. We would stay again.

Very cosy and comfortable cottage with everything we needed. Great to have enclosed garden for ease of early mornings with the dogs. It is in the heart of the busy dairy farm so be prepared for a bit of noise and bustle associated with that (it didnt disturb us at all). We were fascinated to see the milking from the viewing gallery. We also enjRead moreoyed a few games of pool in the games room in the barn. The host was very helpful pointing us in the right direction for walks. Hide

Absolutely amazing place. We loved watching the cows being milked then getting the milk and milkshakes from the vending machine. Beautiful location, and a fully stocked kitchen we could of made a roast dinner for 10 people
