At a glance

  • Cosy and welcoming accommodation for two surrounded by trees and nature
  • Pet-friendly cottage close to beaches and world-class golf courses
  • Former farm building restored to a high standard, within acres of private grounds

Property code: OC-94806

A lovingly restored farm building surrounded by sprawling 4.5 acres of lush woodland and perfectly placed for adventures along the South Wales Cost. This traditional hideaway is ideal for an outdoorsy couple or solo traveller and their tufty-pawed pal. In high season, scope out the dog-dedicated stretch of sand at Rest Bay Beach (3 miles) for hours of wave-crashing fun. Back at base, sip an al fresco brew in the south-facing courtyard while Fido dries his soggy paws.

This inviting property boasts a classic cottage interior with warm earthy tones, checked fabrics, and wooden design details. Towel off your sandy companion at the door before padding into the welcoming lounge. Recline on the sofa and crack open the chocolates or peruse the bookshelf and curl up for a read. Hosting an extra guest or two? Pull out the sofa bed and let the celebrations continue into the early hours. After a day of adventuring, rustle up some refreshments in the stylish shaker kitchen and prepare a special holiday supper for your hungry hound. In the dining room, prop open the patio doors and feast with the gentle summer breeze drifting inside. Ascend the staircase to the peaceful king-size bedroom with crisp linens and plenty of cosy corners for a plush dog bed. Enjoy your morning coffee from the courtyard or grab the lead and venture through the private woodland and orchard with an abundance of fragrant wildflowers for your curious canines to sniff.

Stroll the bustling high street of Porthcawl (2 miles) and swing by the country pub welcoming furry patrons with open arms. Get tails wagging with a sandy scamper across the sprawling Merthyr Mawr (5 miles) or feel the wind in your fur with a scenic saunter along the Wales Coast Path boardwalk (within 2 miles).
