Property code: OC-509866

This fantastic railway carriage-style cabin, situated on an organic farm in the village of Crai, is the ideal romantic bolthole for couples - and their pups, of course! Sleeping you both in a beautiful, handcrafted bed and with space for up to two dogs to snooze, this open-plan-style holiday home has everything you need for a relaxing break. Head off to Craig Y Nos Country Park (9 miles) for walkies around lush meadows, lakes and woodland, before returning home for a relaxing soak in your very own private hot tub at the front of the cabin.

The property, which is surrounded by stunning rolling hill views, has plenty of rustic charm blended with clever design features to maximise the space. The compact wooden kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm during your stay, and the convenient fold-away dining area is the perfect spot to eat looking out towards the hills. If the weather’s sunny, throw open the glass double doors and eat out on the balcony to breathe in the Brecon Beacons air, the dogs laying by your feet.

Head off to the nearby market town Brecon (14 miles) and explore the shops and cafes; make sure you pop into the cathedral that has its own heritage centre and tearoom where your pups are welcome to join you! You’ll find plenty of walking routes from the Brecon Beacons National Park Visitor Centre (9 miles), which will give you plenty of inspiration for trips for your stay, but Pen y Fan (13.5 miles) and Cribyn (15 miles) are ideal for hiking. Make sure you take a trip on the Brecon Mountain Railway (25 miles) that takes you through the National Park and along the Taf Fechan Reservoir - your pups can join you with their own ticket!

We had a wonderful week at the Flying Scotsman. Waking up to the beautiful views every morning was marvellous. Very quiet and relaxing, especially enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evening looking at the stars. Would definitely love to go back.

Had such a lovely stay at the Flying Scotsman! The location was wonderful and peaceful, and the shepherd's hut was surprisingly spacious. Every piece of kitchen equipment you could possibly need was provided and the whole stay was comfy and relaxing. The hot tub really made it though! Would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Everything was perfect, and the quality of the build and woodwork was so high it was above what we had expected. So peaceful and stunning location!

The Flying Scotsman was definitely a 5* glamping experience and even a 3* self-catering. With some cheap touch-ups this would have been even better (e.g. tightening sink tap, fix one of the french door blinds, fix rope around the seating area, replace blown lighting bulbs inside etc). The location was absolutely amazing!
