Escape the stresses of everyday life and relax in the tranquil surroundings of Snowdonia’s beautiful countryside. This secluded cottage combines a cosy feeling with plenty of space, and is ideal for couples, families or small groups, plus two four-pawed friends.
The living area on the ground floor of this atmospheric property is open plan, with a spacious kitchen that includes lovely touches such as a Belfast sink and a plate rack. Pop your dogs’ bowls down on the slate-style floor, and the humans can enjoy dining around the wooden table, next to glass doors with far-reaching rural views. Head to the lounge area and cuddle up in front of the Smart TV with your pups at your feet – lighting the wood burner if you feel like some cosy comfort. On this floor, there’s also a utility room which you can access from the garden, and a wet room with a rain shower and WC. On the first floor, you’ll find two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite. Both have antique furniture, sloping ceilings and gorgeous views. A separate bathroom with a fabulous slipper bath is the perfect finishing touch to the interior. Outside, light the fire pit or BBQ and dine on the gravelled terrace by the house, or explore the multi-level grassed area, bordered by a stream, perhaps making friends with the nearby sheep.
Within easy reach of wonderful walks and great beaches, the cottage is 1.5 miles from the handsome Dolgellau. This market town, overlooked by the majestic Cadair Idris, is a starting point for a range of fabulous hikes, including the Mawddach Trail, which stretches along a disused railway track by the side of the spectacular Mawddach Estuary. In Barmouth, at the end of the trail, you’ll find a golden beach which your canine companions will adore.
