For peace, tranquillity and seclusion, this cottage is unsurpassed – while market towns, beaches and outdoor activities are all within easy reach. A perfect getaway in Snowdonia for families and small groups.

This picturesque cottage is both pretty and practical, offering the opportunity to relax and recharge while enjoying its amazing views. The farmhouse kitchen is spacious and inviting, and its tiled flooring makes it ideal for your furry friends’ bowls and beds. You’ll want to spend a lot of time here around the dining table, perhaps sliding open the doors for some country air, and there’s even a TV so you can keep up with the news or a favourite show. After supper, snuggle up by the wood burner in the lounge or head to the games room for some competitive fun. When it’s time for bed, there’s a choice of a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a king-size bedroom and a twin, the latter two sharing a handsome family bathroom. As for outside space, you can sit out at the front or the side of the cottage – wherever you choose will have incredible views. The side garden is enclosed, making it an ideal area for pups to explore safely. Enjoy al fresco games and meals, or if you fancy a soak after a long walk you can hop into the bubbles of your very own hot tub.

You can explore the coast and countryside of the Snowdonia National Park from the cottage, perhaps venturing 6 miles to Aberdyfi with its dog-friendly beach and water sports, or inland to Machynlleth, 8 miles, an ancient market town with great shops and a friendly vibe. There are numerous walking trails in the area, including Glyndwr''s Way, which winds 135 miles through the remote hills and moorlands of central Wales.

We had a lovely holiday. The house was in a beautiful location with stunning scenery and so peaceful. There were lovely hosts and and gave us recommendations of where we could visit as we didn't know the area at all. We spent quite a bit of our time at Aberdyfi beach which our girls loved, but also visited King Arthurs Labyrinth, the Tallylyn RailwRead moreay, Tywyn beachfront and a walk up to the Bearded Lake which were all great activities with our children. The house was great and ideal for our youngest as there were no stairs for us to worry about. We would love to return for another holiday at some point in the future. Hide

Fiona and Dylan were just fabulous hosts. The welcome package was much appreciated. Amazing location, lovely to watch the dark night skies and the view was fab from the garden. So peaceful to watch the lambs and farm animals. Highly recommend Dylan's lamb burgers and sausages. We even brought some home with us!

Llidiart Y Lynn is an absolute credit to it's owners. We found it to be very clean and exceptionally well kitted out. On arrival, we found fresh farm eggs and homemade cake and a fresh pint in the fridge. Not only that, a selection of tea, biscuits, hot chocolate and mallows, sugar.. along with a a coffee machine and lots of coffee. There is also sRead moreome basic ingredient bits, herbs and spices, salt/pepper etc. Plenty of plates/cutlery etc. all manner of utensils, good quality saucepans and a dual drawer Ninja. Washing up cloths, liquid, tea towels and dishwasher tablets are also all provided. The washing machine is a Miele, so fab, there's no tumble dryer, but you don't need one, the Welsh wind will soon get it dry or hang on the airer by the rad in kitchen in the evening and it'll de dry by morn. The bed we used (king) was very comfy, loads of storage and had a stunning view out to the front, you can lay in bed at night and watch Orion cross the valley (I'll tell you about the sky soon). The showers are really good, this is the first place we've stayed where we didn't have to mop the floor after a shower. Shower gel and towels are provided. There's a basic Sky tv thing and they have wifi and a landline in the cottage as there is no mobile signal at all in the valley. we only used one of the bedrooms, but the other two both had comfy looking beds and lots of storage. Both double rooms I noted had cotton pads/buds in pots on the dresser, it's these little touches that can make all the difference I think! The hot tub is situated a few paces from the back door, was chemical checked and the filter changed daily. A walk up to the Bearded Lake is a must. The view is stunning, it proper clears the cobwebs from the soul going up there. We visited in March 25, had the most amazing weather and clear skies.....and the sky at night is amazing. I live in a Bortle 5 zone (Isle of Wight) this is 3...... and the difference is vast!!! If you live in a an urban area or even in the countryside but near light pollution - I guarantee it will blow your mind. You can see more (many many more) stars with your naked eye than I can get on a real good night at home with an iPhone 15 pro In nightmode, 30sec in a tripod..... Oh and, if your interested in planes, Happy Valley is a bit of an in/out for the Mach Loop. Since 2009, Hubby and I have been renting cottages all over the UK, initially with a young family (they're grown up now so it's just us) and although there have been many areas we have gone back too, there has never been a property that we wanted to return to, until now. Halfway through the week, I booked us a return visit, it just so happened that of the 3 weeks still available between our stay and end of Nov, one fell over my birthday - what an omen eh? Make sure too that you get some of their lamb burgers and the pork sausages from the neighbouring farm, it was 17 for 6 burgers and 10 sausages. Hide

Fantastic location and an absolutely beautiful cottage. The hosts were amazing, had great conversations with the owner about various things around the area, including castles and the Mach loop where the Air Force do low flying manoeuvres and i have to say The owners Lemon drizzle cake was a winner! Hot tub was a definite highlight on the chilly eveRead morenings. you can see the milky way and satellites passing overhead at night as there is no light pollution. The village of Aberdovey is pleasant and the Dovey Inn is great for a pint, lunch and a game of pool! Beach seems to go on forever and there is an abundance of shells to collect. Hike up to the Bearded Lake and the views that meet you there will blow your mind! Hide
