Combining original features with modern amenities, this romantic couples’ retreat is in a peaceful location close to the south coast of the Llyn Peninsula. After exploring the area’s wonderful beaches and countryside, spend the evening dining on the terrace or in front of the wood burner in the welcoming lounge.
This end-of-terrace cottage is beautifully decorated, and its tiled floors throughout the ground floor are ideal for your canine companions. The open-plan living space includes a shaker-style kitchen, an antique wooden dining table and a comfortable lounge area that focuses around the wood burner. The king-size bedroom is on the first floor, a delightful space featuring an exposed-stone wall, sloping ceiling and ornamental fireplace. A single sofa bed in here offers the option of bringing a child, too. There’s a bright and spacious shower room to complete the picture inside. An enclosed, lawned back garden is the perfect patch for pups to run around and sniff, while a separate, south-facing courtyard is ideal for grilling delicious food on the BBQ and dining alfresco, or for simply chilling out on the loungers and soaking up the sun. The cottage is tucked away on a farm and the owners can arrange a tour on request.
Surrounded by fabulous scenery and lovely walks, the cottage is less than 2 miles from the Wales Coast Path and 3 miles from the charming fishing village of Aberdaron, where you’ll find a small selection of places to eat and drink and a mile-long beach. Head to Porthor Beach, 5.5 miles, to hear its famous ‘whistling sands’, or to Hell’s Mouth, 9 miles, for surfing and bodyboarding. And if you’re missing a bit of hustle and bustle, vibrant Abersoch, 8 miles, will provide retail therapy as well as trendy bars, cafes and restaurants.
