Based in the stunning area of southern Snowdonia, this property, in the market town of Dolgellau, is charming. With space for a family or small group of friends, plus three dogs, it offers the chance to explore some of Wales’s prettiest parts. Dogs will love a trip here thanks to the vast amount of trails to walk, while kids will enjoy trips to the nearby sandy beaches, and adults can try out one of the many dog-friendly pubs.
You’ll notice the cottage’s character from the moment you step inside. There are exposed timber beams throughout, while finishing touches give the property a homely feel. Once you’ve passed through the hallway - a great spot to towel down any muddy paws - you’ll go through to the open-plan living area which comprises the lounge and dining room. There are plump sofas and armchairs for you to relax on, while your dogs curl up by your feet in front of the wood-effect electric fire. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare delicious meals, while it also benefits from an adjoining utility room. Up the staircase from the living area, you’ll find three bedrooms. There’s a king-size bedroom with a TV, a double and a twin. All guests can share the stylish family shower room. While there is no dedicated outdoor space at the cottage, Dolgellau Park is less than half a mile away, and the Mawddach Trail - suitable for any age and level, is right outside the front door.
Striking out on the Mawddach Trail is a great way to spend the day. It’s a route that takes you (via foot or bike) down to Barmouth Beach on the coast. Dogs will love this route, but you could also head to the biking centre of Coed y Brenin, 7.5 miles away.
