Located off the beaten track, this mountain hideaway offers a tranquil haven in which to rest and recharge, with numerous dog walks from its front door. Despite the remote feel, you’ll be just 2.5 miles from the historic town of Llanrwst, with its great range of shops and eateries. The property suits families and groups of friends and has a fabulous, open-plan kitchen/diner for entertaining.
The detached cottage cleverly blends original features with contemporary comforts. The lounge has a fabulous corner sofa (which converts into a bed if required), whilst a wood burner provides a cosy dozing spot for the woofers. The kitchen/diner has everything you need to create delicious, home-cooked meals and, after a day of adventure, gather around the farmhouse-style dining table for an evening of great food and laughter. A single bedroom and a chic shower room complete the ground floor. The remaining bedrooms are upstairs, nestled in the eaves (just watch out for the restricted head height in some areas). A vast lawn surrounds the cottage, with ample space for Rover and Fido to burn off steam. There’s also an enclosed patio with furniture for enjoying al fresco dining in the fresh, mountain air.
The area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with the glacial wilderness of the Glyderau range and the dizzying heights of Mount Snowdon all within 20 miles. You’ll also find nearby walking routes, taking you to the beautiful lakes of Crafnant and Geirionydd. The vibrant village of Betws-y-Coed (5 miles), with its distinct alpine feel, has a great range of pubs, bars, and restaurants, many of which welcome four-pawed diners. The picturesque Swallow Falls waterfall (7 miles) is a great choice on a hot day, with plenty of shady picnic spots amongst the towering beech and birch trees.
