At a glance

  • Delightful, period cottage, at the heart of Lynton in Devon
  • Wood burner for cosy nights in together
  • Great location for coastal walks and exploring Exmoor National Park

Property code: OC-DENLY

Enjoy a cosy cottage stay with your other half plus your fur baby in the coastal seaside village of Lyton. Warm cold paws and feet in front of the crackling wood burner in the living room after spending a day walking along the river and watching your four-legged friend splash around in the sea. Because of its excellent location in the heart of the village, you’ll be surrounded by caning-welcoming pubs and cafes.

As you step inside the three-storey property you’ll be met with the neutral-toned kitchen/diner with a one-wall kitchen unit and a compact table and seating next to the window. Climb the stairs to reach the first floor, where there is a living room with a wood burner and TV. The top floor has a compact double room with an en-suite bathroom which has a shower and WC.

Located in the historic quarter of the Exmoor village, Lynton you’ll be close to a sandwich shop for picnic adventures, cafes for rainy days and dog-welcoming restaurants for romantic meals out (within 0.5 miles). If you cross the river you’ll reach Lynmouth, where there is the Glen Lyn Gorge, the historical Lynmouth Harbour (both 0.5 miles) and Blacklands Beach (1 mile) where you can take Fido for a dip. Surrounding the village is the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is packed full of scenic coastal walks and tourist attractions, like Valley of Rocks (1 mile). If you’ve spent enough time at the coast, head inland to National Trust Watersmeet (2.5 miles) for a lush woodland area with waterfalls and wildlife.

Nice quirky cottage. Clean, comfortable and great location. Even though you are in the middle of town its very quiet. There is everything you need for a self catering holiday. Bed is nice and comfortable too. My only slight criticism would be that there needs to be more hanging space for clothes. Would of been OK for a long weekend but not enougRead moreh room for 2 people for a week. Also just to point out the stair are very steep. I would recommend to anyone physically fit. (stairs) Hide

Comfortable bijou cottage over 3 floors. Located right in the heart of Lynton, good cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops right on the doorstep which is ideal. Accommodation is fine for 2 active people who are out and about every day. Stairs could be an issue if someone has mobility issues but i think this is mentioned in the property details.
